The Show went well in Jogja that time we planned to go back soon but; We had no way of knowing that there would be a huge disaster only a month later in this exact place. A week before we planned to return a huge Earthquake hit Jogja canceling all our plans to go, We then started an effort to raise money by playing benifit concerts for this natural disaster.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

So here i am now in Dubai wandering arround. A bit crazy because i havnt had any sleep and trying to navigate to the beach to relax. The modern Dubai is bustling. Lots of International energy here. Not to mention how many Indians are here... I have a day layover here. A chance to explore. The last time i only was in the airport but now i can say i have really been to Dubai! I fly out in a couple hours. Looking forward to Thai food! Aloi muk muk!!!

So there i went to Airport to go back to Thailand when low and behold no booking. They told me to come back tomorrow so off we headed to Krokobite to catch Afrodesias (a funk band from San fransisco) last show. We even ended getting up and jamming on stage. It looks like Africa wants me to stay.

Krokobite, Ghana

The show finished so we moved to the Beach to see some more music. Nice band here and a traditional music school too. Me i am playing the Kora everyday studying with my friend Amed from Burkina. We got a place right on the edge of the beach for cheap. Fufu, Banku and Music everyday...I think i will stay here in Ghana for a while. Looking like i will be flying back on the 26th tosee Rie. Excited for the reunion.A month is long enough to be away from my wife.I have to take a bus into town to use internet. So i dont use it very much. Well back to the beach now. Africa is Amazing!

Music has been flowing pretty good! Nice connections giving potential in a positive direction! I walked straight into a nice situation with people interested in coming together here in Accra. The centre of the city being at the ocean and we Akuma village are right next to the ocean pertched on a cliff over the beach. That be the location. Mandala family growing! New members grooving on fresh African vibes! Rasta camp! Music Festival happening. World music collaborations! A tour mentioned ! A friend from Burkina is making a Kora for me. I have made it to Africa. It look a long time but i made it. People are very friendly. We will see what is too come. I am here in Ghana Accra Connecting with the music scene.I went to a nice concert last night on the closest beach; lots of Reggae action. It was bob Marleys 61st birthday. There was this great band from San fransisco also.They are here for a world music festival. It starts this sunday.I met a guy who plays the kora and he offered to make me a kora and teach me.I am still waiting to get the best instrument.I met a guy who has a radio show here named Black Santo and he said he would play our cd on his show. Some friends have invited me to stay in their houses by the beachThe weekend is coming and this music festivalso i am still here in the city. Things is Ghana are very much like indonesiaI like the pop music here too. High Life! Today off to wander around and play music meet new friends and experience a new culture. Having fun. Eric
