It has been linked with Greek aikia "torture" but that theory is unlikely. The Romans derived it from Greek katharos "pure" and changed their spelling from Katerina to Katharina to reflect this. The name belonged to a Christian martyr who was tortured on the famous Catherine wheel. Catherine the Great was an empress of Russia. The name was also borne by three of king Henry the Eighth's wives.

--- KATHLEEN English form of CAITLIN or "little darling" (Celtic)

--- JAMES Latin/English form of JACOB that comes to us through the Latin form Jacomus. The biblical James was an important apostle. He was the brother of the apostle John. A James is also mentioned in the Bible as being the brother of Jesus.

--- JAMIE Scottish pet form of JAMES or feminine form of JAMES

--- JOANNE feminine form of JOHN
-JOHN "the Lord has favored" (Hebrew). John is the name of two important New Testament characters. The first was John the Baptist. The second was the apostle John, brother of the apostle James, who was also supposedly the author of the fourth Gospel and Revelation in the New Testament. The name was borne by 23 popes. Also, the name of rulers of Hungary, Poland, Portugal and France. This has been the most popular of male Christian names.

--- GARNET either "protection" (Old English) from a surname, or "garnet" (English) from the name of the precious stone

--- RUTH "satisfied" (Hebrew). This was originally a surname

---YVONNE feminine form of YVES
-YVES "yew" (Teutonic)

---ISABEL Spanish form of ELIZABETH
-ELIZABETH "oath of God" (Hebrew). Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

Saturday morning, Katie wakes up at 745 am, preparing for my day, breakfast, shower, work out, pack, etc.
I head to the airport around 430 Pm to wait for my flight which was SPOSE to leave at 5:40 PM
Anywho everyone is waiting in security, its snowing fairly hard. And an announcement comes on saying that our aircraft couldnt land cause of no visibility, so the flight was cancelled. GASP.
That sucked, had to go get baggage then get in line to sort out what was gunna happen.
Which took a decc amount of time, finally get help and am told that there are a few standby flights going out in the early MORNING.

So next morning, I wake up around 3:30 am and call a cab to the airport and get there around 4:30 Am
...didn't get on a plane till oh, about noon.
So I hung out at Freddy airport for 8 hours
Read, slept, wrote, watched the notebook.
The people working there KNOW me now
I'm like a legend, I wouldn't be surprised if they all applauded when I finally got a flight out.

Sooo I fly to Montréal, which is a huge confusing airport. Which is even bigger when your there alone without a flight plan.
I eventually sort it out and get into the ticket line the man behind the counter is giving me stanby options saying that none of them have a very high chance... cept for the Ottawa one, but even then when I get THERE getting to Calgary was not likely. Anyway I chose that one cause it was sooner, and as he was putting me on for standby he stops and is like "well your lucky, you have seats".
So SWEET I had actual reserved seats!
Gnarly man.
So not gunna lie, not having a set plan was a bit stressful but pretty fun. When I finally got seats I just embraced it though.
Had a daiquiri in Montréal, cause I could.
Wondering random provinces is fun.
Id say I went through security about... 5 times in all
The flight from Montréal to Ottawa was about 45 mins lol fairly short. And I was in a seat in the front of the plane FACING the back of the plane. Different.
The Ottawa Calgary flight was good tho, bigger plane, tv screen. Didn't really watch it but it was on in the background. I was served FOOD. Apparently it was pre paid?
Had one yummy sandwhich and drinks.
All was going well so I really should have known my luggage would not be arriving with me.
Story of my life
Next time I'm driving.
All in all I was up for about a day straight in constant motion.

I have one pic from the whole day, I will upload once I am back NB. would have taken more, but I was sort of pre occupied.
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

I was caught in a blizzard

It all began when after my Classics class. I decided to walk up to Shoppers and buy hair conditioner.
It was NOT snowing when I left.
it was nicely crispy...
anywho, about halfway up the hill...Prospect street? dunno
things were quickly turning white and bad vision ensued. It was about then I realized I was screwed coming back cause there was lots of ice on the sidewalk and I would be going downhill plus snow would COVER where the ice was.
so I get to Shoppers, take about 10 mins then leave and when I come outside,
I couldnt see much lets put it that way
freezing,
I start walking
by the way, the snow is blowing up, into my face so I couldnt really open my eyes or look ahead.
That alone is a pain in the ass.
I get to the middle portion of the hike downhill and the beloved ice comes into play
so Im trying to manover myself while slowly but with finesse around the ice up onto the snow banks.
which was hard since I didnt know where the ice was until I step on it and slip.
but I didnt fall.
...
.........
Until a couple minutes later.
I was on the ground before I even knew what happened. However the wet seeping thru my sweat pants got me up to speed.
I had dropped my purse and my ipod and I didnt have gloves so for the rest of the walk my hands are burning. I was pretty much sprawled on my bum, cute.
At that point I picture dad walking with grandad looong ago across the train bridge to go watch hockey.
....why??

After a couple Humbugs I was back on my way and didnt fall again until I nearly did the splits on Mackay drive.
By the time I got back to residence I was the only person outside.
Which just confirms the fact that I am crazy, and that it was cold out.

and on another note, I would have taken pictures but my hands were too frozen. I also had little icicles growing on my face and on my hair if you can believe it.

I am JUST getting warm 4 hours later.

That was my journey, and now Im waiting for my chinese food to arrive.
ta
