Dear Family and Friends,Well its 7pm our time and we are at gate E 14, our plane is sitting at the gate and we expect to begin boarding at 8pm.  We traveled back from Macon to Atlanta today, Took some diversions along the way to look at the Scenery.  In particular the High Falls State ParkIts been a brilliant holiday, we have enjoyed it very much and hope you have enjoyed following us along the way.  Just a few pictures from today.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

We had a brilliant day at Agrirama in Georgia, this was a Museum showcasing history of farming in Georgia,We saw close up buildings, equipment and people who worked the land - one guy was 90!Here are some pictures from our day.  Today we travel back to Atlanta, and fly back to the UK.  We have had a diverse holiday from the full on Nascar Race to the serenity and beauty of the Carolina's.  We have both really enjoyed our time in the US.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

After a few days at the coast, today we made our way back towards Atlanta.  Complete with the various Mozzie bites from the day before.On the drive we stopped off at St Augustine, about 60 miles from Daytona, a little bit of England, well it was once.  We visited the fort and then moved along the coast to look at the lighthouse.  Today we move to the final Stop, in Macon, Georgia.A few pictures from yesterday.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

Daytona Beach, Florida, United States

Dear Family and Friends, after a few days of driving today we had a really chilled day.  Visiting another Circuit, this time Daytona International Speedway, followed by an afternoon driving along the coast and on the beach at Ponce Inlet.  We had a paddle and got bitten by 1000 Mozzie's. A few pictures from today's activities, tomorrow, we move away from the coast as we start the trip back to Atlanta and the end of the journey for this year, but for just one more night we will go to sleep to the sound of the Ocean.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

Daytona Beach, Florida, United States

Dear Family and Friends,We have made it along the East Coast to Daytona Beach,  After a long day driving.   We traveled from Ridgeland in South Caroline, through Georgia and into Florida, along the coast past Savannah.  Its very windy, as Ida is out in the gulf coast about 300 miles off shore, so wind is around 20 mph at present.  Temperatures yesterday did hit 82 degrees at one point, As much of yesterday was a driving day, not really much to report, we only have a few pictures from along the way.  Today we are off to Daytona International Speedway, which is the Sister track of Talladega Superspeedway.  Hopefully a chance to drive along the beach.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

Dear Family and Friends,Today we drove from Myrtle Beach to Ridgeland, out last stop in the Carolina's.  We stopped off today at the USS Yorktown at a place called Patriots Point.  A chance to have a good look around a US Submarine from WWII and a decomisioned Air Craft Carrier.  Amazing to see how life would have been on board such a large ship.  A few pictures from our day.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xxx

Dear Family and Friends,Caroline and I had a enjoyable day in Myrtle Beach.  Started with Breakfast at ihop, then moved onto Broadwalk on the Beach.  This is a complex of small boutique stores, a fair, crazy gold course and cinema's.We strolled around for a few hours, then moved on to explore some of the local coastline.  Unfortunately we had some bad news when we got back to the Hotel, that Caroline's mum has been taken into hospital, so our thoughts are with her at the moment as she makes steady progress.Last Night we went to Legends in Concert - at a theatre about 5 miles down the road which we enjoyed.Today we move along the coast to Ridgeland, as we close in on Daytona Beach.Lots of Love Caroline & Les xx

Dear Family and Friends,Today we spent the day on a train excursion traveling on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, only 9 miles up the road from our hotel in Cherokee.  Lasting 4.5 hours, the trip took us around 60 miles round trip through some the scenery of the Smoky Mountains.  Once back at the Depot, we then drove to Columbia some 200 miles from Cherokee where we spent the night.  Some pictures from our train trip.Lots of Love Les & Caroline xxx
