Ive given up my job, which I leave in 3 days, sold everything that I own and passed my goldfish off to a good home ! Quite scary to think that Ill have to start again when / if I come back.

I cant believe how easy it has been to book my trip and how little hassle I have had getting visas etc, this only strengthens my view that this what definitely the right thing to do and certainly the right time to do it.

Anyone who knows me knows what an independant person I am and also how much I love my family and friends but it's going to be hard to leave my very pregnant mum !!

It still doesnt really feel like Im going but no matter who I talk to when I tell them Im going on my own they all say exactly the same thing, 'oh aren't you brave !!??'. I dont really feel as if I am 'brave', travelling is something that I have wanted to do for years but when Ive had the chance before Ive always made excuses or got into situations that have meant I couldnt just go. Ive always said I never ever want to be one of those 50 year olds that says 'i wish i'd done that' or 'if only', life is far too short for all that b***ocks !!

Im sure Ive not packed enough stuff, my 50 litre ruck sack is only 3/4's full but I forget Im going to Southern Africa and Oz and Im sure they have shops out there !!

Ill will endeavour to keep you updated with all of my exploits !! Bring on the safari and my leaving parties are the coming bank holiday weekend !!
