Saba, Netherlands Antilles

After St Eustatius we headed over to Saba, as the island got smaller they got nicer and improved my impression of the Caribbean (I guess the all inclusive resort of Antigua just isn't my thing). We stayed at the Eco Lodge half way up Mount Scenery with rain water for showers and drinking it made for a great location. Surviving the shortest runway in the world (after another visit to St Maartin as the Statia Saba flight was cancelled), we snorkelled (saw sharks and turtles), climbed to the top of Mount Scenery which was really muddy and walked down to town by torch light for a drink in the swinging doors pub.

St Eustatius, Netherlands Antilles

After the conference we headed to St Eustatius, via St Maartin, a smaller island that makes up part of the Dutch Antilles. We stayed in Statia Lodge and had scooters to get ourselves round the island. Hiking up the volcano we saw snakes, lizards and crabs.
