Mui Ne, Mui Ne, Vietnam

Sin Chao.....(hello) everybody!!!Well Jolie and I have arrived in Mui Ne....pronounced "Muee Naa"......and I must say that it's very beautiful and definitely a little bit of paradise without all the congestion of most resorts that we are used too. The first day that we got here it was sunny till the afternoon then got cloudy and rained with thunder and lightning but warm with a beautiful strong breeze off of the Pacific waters. Yesterday, we went for a walk snapping photos and looking around at the locals and their dwellings and of course, the great views of the water and palm trees. I was checking out the "vacant lots" dreaming of a vacation/retirement house with view of the Pacific to dream about and, have made a date with a real estate broker just to get an idea of the prices around here.........:).........After our walk, I went directly to pool side with my tunage, drink, smokes and sunblock.........OMG......I was the only one at the pool for a couple of hours and it felt great.......till lunch time I stayed out and then Jolie and I went down the road to a restaurant on the beach with the coolest layout.......soft lounge beds, tables on the beach, a screened in room right at the beach and, a covered open-air restaurant and bar.......the service was slow and we were the only ones there but, the seafood was amazing!! I had BBQ shrimp and Jolie had BBQ grouper in a butter and garlic sauce........yummy!! After lunch on the way back to the hotel...........holly @**@^*@ was it hot!!! That's when I realized that I was as BBQ'ed as the shrimp!! All from 3 hours outside at the pool.....OMG.....was I cooked......and it wasn't even 1pm in the afternoon!Well, needless to say, I was done.......and spent the rest of the day dying in bed with Jolie there to take care of me very well I must add. Today is the same, although  I'm alot better Jolie and I are staying in the room today till late in the afternoon when the sun is down abit and high tide is gone and the beach will appear. I love swimming in the ocean and have made it a point that from now on, I will be taking vacations to relax and enjoy life more in the future. Saigon, Vietnam

Hey peeps.........Well, I'm still here in Saigon and the weather hasn't been the greatest. Today it poured rain till it was over the curbs in some places. Jolie and I were lucky enough to be able to see the Olympic flame running through Saigon after waiting for close to 3 hours. A couple of cops started giving me a hard time about not being able to take pictures of the event.....hahaha......"F- them!!"........there's only about 10 million cell phones with camera's plus video camera's and then there were the people with actual camera's and videocams. Assholes. I made a motion to "cuff me" or, to place handcuffs on me and arrest me..........needless to say, we moved from that spot and got some ok pictures of the runner and the flame. We're trying to arange a trip to the beach still......maybe next week after the 7th of May and, we're going to do a day trip to the Mekong Delta to "check it out" Well, gotta split now.........hope all is well back home and if any of my bosses are reading this........I NEED WORK AND MONEY........so get ready to put me on a machine!!!Peace, love and "see you on the other side"!!Gee & Jolie.

Goodmorning Vietnam.....or, should I say......Canada.Well, it's done.....it's official.....I'm married and we have the wedding reception photos to prove it. And, we have a video....and it's a good thing cause I can barely remember the night for getting so drunk and stupid........I will have to watch it when I get home to see if it was a good night or not.....just kidding. But honestly.......I got tanked.......passed out and hit my head......I'm ok now but talk about feeling as if I "lost face" or what!! Thank god it was my wedding and I had a good excuse so no "loss of face" happened for me or, for Jolie my bride. It was a good night with an Emcee, and 4 singers (from what I can remember....I'll have to check the video to be sure).........lots of food (I can't remember eating but they have photos to prove I did)..........and all of Jolie's family and friends. Just thinking of the night makes me queezy.....and the thought of another drink makes my head spin......I'm glad that Jolie has "much love" for me or, I could have been in trouble. I'll end it here..........we're leaving for Saigon this evening and heading to the beach next week I am pretty sure..........stay tuned folks for more pictures from the amazing city of Saigon and the beautiful beaches of Mue Nei.................Peace for now.........See you on the "other side"Gee and Jolie.

Hi Everybody!!Well, it's Friday the 18th of April and on April 22nd we will be having our wedding reception here at the Hoang Hai hotel in Hai Phong. I've attached our wedding studio photo shots and will be adding the reception pictures next week. The last couple of days have been very hot and sunny here in Hai Phong with tempatures of 31 in the shade. Next week sometime after the reception Jolie and I will be heading south towards Saigon. I'm hoping to be able to stop in DaNang or Nha Trang or Phan Thiet to hit the beaches and to have a little honeymoon........and I'm dying to work on my tan before coming home in the next 4 weeks or so. Well, I hope you like the pictures........I can tell you that both Jolie and I had a hard time keeping straight faces and in one or two of the pics I had a hard time standing up the way they positioned my feet.......I thought that I would fall over if Jolie wasn't there to keep me upright. April 9th- well, Jolie and I have left Hanoi for the town of Quang ninh and I must admit that I was starting to like Hanoi with its busy atmosphere, foreign tourists, road side bbq resturants that come out at night and disappear at the stroke of 12 (by law and, enforcement of the police nightly) and the great food and friendly people. Going back to the country is to say the least a little disappointing but, jolies mom is missing us and, its free to stay and eat even though I haven't had to put out more than $28/night for a hotel (Hanoi's Old Quarter.....huge room with a/c and a balcony) and a lower rate of $20/night when staying in a 3 star hotel in Hai Phong.......after 2 months shit starts to add up no matter how cheap it seems to be..........April 11th- Today I thought that we were going to the goverment offices today to sign the papers to proceed with the marrige and last minute, I found out that we are getting married there by a goverment official..........OMG!! I had to dress nice and take the rings......man, was I nervous. What was supposed to be signing my name became an offical ceremony. The man representing the goverment of Vietnam took all of 5 minutes to tell Jolie to tell me and her our responsibilities to each other here and in Canada as husband and wife. His secretary took our photos necessary for the Canadian Goverment and before I knew it........snap snap bang bang......I'm a married man and very very happy to boot. April 13th- Well last night, I thought that I was in the middle of a bombing raid with the booming thunder that was happening through the night. I have never in my life been so shaken with the noise. I litterally felt as if there were bombs being dropped all around us with the ground shakiing around us as we slept. I now know the fear that people who have experienced war must have felt during an air raid even though it was just over a couple of hours, I was terrified being woken by it as it continued to rain throughout the day while on our way to Hai Phong and continued into the night. During the day J;olie, her mom and I went to see her brother and sister and their families as they prepared for their cousins wedding. I can tell you all this, if you think planning a wedding back home is a lot of work you should try doing one here..................so much tradition is steeped in this ceremony I can't even begin to explain the things necessary to "make everyone happy" and so no one "looses face". Stay tuned for the next day..............................April 14th- Ok, the sun is finally shinning and its dress day, wedding photos day and her cousins wedding day.......OMG..........everything is starting off in the wrong way with confusion as the "word of the day" .......the dress shop that we went to sent Jolies dress to their other store and so we had to walk another 15 minutes there (thank god they set up a fan for me). For the pictures, we needed some done for the goverments to show that it was "for real"..........and ithe shop tryed to "upsell" us on photo albums like "used car salesman"........but lucky for me, they couldn't understand or talk to me. Next after having my tailored suit jacket sent from Hanoi 12 hours earlier, the dry cleaner delivered my shirts and pants last minute to the hotel. Now, Jolie is getting her makeup done and I've remembered that I forgot my belt in the north at moms place so, I find the only shop around with a belt and they want $70usd for a guaranteed "knock off" DunHill belt.........fuck!!..............and its only 9:05am.......I can just imagine what the day is going to be like from here on in....................stay tuned.............Well, after 3 hours of taking photos for the wedding shots, we made our way to the wedding of her cousins in the boonies of VN. Once there, I swear that I was the only white guy these people have ever met face to face and was welcomed as good as any king has ever been. When there all of Jolies family wanted to talk to me (through Jolies translation of course) and her uncle and father took to me especially drinking Vodka and feeding me and bringing all their relatives to greet me and ask me how I liked VN. I'm sure that none of you could imagine what I've seen or eperienced but I can tell you as far a place as it is and as different a lifestyle that they have, everyone is very friendly to me and all want to say hi to me and show me respect and kindness no matter if they are family or total strangers..........its an amazing feeling to be treated so well even in the poorest of countries, they are very rich with their hospitality towards me I can say. The night finneshed after many vodka shots and lots of pictures I took of all the wedding goers ( I love my Nikon) and a long ride back to the north too Meh's house in the north of VN..................stay tuned kids..........peace from gee!!

Hi everybody, Well, I'm still alive and kicking and running back and forth across the north of Vietnam taking care of the paperwork with the goverment officials (money talks and bullshit walks here in a big way). While staying at Jolie's moms place I met alot of children that were fasinated with the only white guy in town and, that they have ever seen. Everyone wants to say "Hello" and practice the little english that they know with me. As the days went on, more and more kids would show up looking for me to take their pictures and say "Hello, what is your name" to me.

Well, hello everybody!!................GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!!We left Hanoi for the north by taxi taking about an hour and a bit, we saw many things along the way (of which, I took a picture or two of everything) When leaving the city and getting into the country I saw alot of cool things..........women selling bread buns on the side of the highway.............construction equipment that is older than my mom............and still, motorscooters everywhere.The town that Jolie's mom is from is where they  mine coal (Black Gold)............and the streets and buildings (and dogs) show it..................everything is black with coal dust. Needless to say, we didn't leave her moms place except to go next door and next door to that to meet Jolie's uncle and aunt. Very close family that she has, they all live next door to each other. After a couple days, we went to meet Jolie's step mom and father.........Jolie looks exactly like her dad who was a very nice man. I wish that I had learned to speak viet better so to speak with her family. After leaving her dads place, we went by taxi to Hai Phong...............where I am now to meet her oldest sister. On the way, Jolie showed me the spot that she would like to have for a house for us............on the side of a mountain beside a beautiful river.................very nice and I think that on the way back we will go to see it closer and I will take some pictures for all to see. Today we will have BBQ for lunch with her sister and her husband.............................Stay tuned for the next episode of "As the 'Nam turns"..................with gee and Jolie....................Peace

Hey everybody.............Well, today was my first day for Jolie and I to hang out and see a part of Hanoi called the "Old Quarter" and I took lots of pictures to share with you. The weather today was a little cloudy with a fine mist on and off and around 20 degrees celsius. While walking around, there are alot of people trying to sell things like fruit and postcards to the tourists......of which I bought both......heheheWe went around a lake in the center of the city and ate some Pho (very very good too!) and went shopping for groceries for when I go to the north tomorrow to meet her mom and then the rest of her family soon after. I can tell you this.........2 bags of groceries stuffed full of good food..........$28....:)...........and, I  bought a "Team Vietnam" soccer jersey for $12 which would easily of cost $80 back home. I think that Vietnam is a great place so far with many europeans here and very friendly people everywhere............I'm loving it!! Gotta run..................Peace.

Hanoi, Vietnam

Hi everybody, I made it safely to Vietnam, arriving today at 4pm their time after a very long trip of 20 plus hours. Flying into Hong Kong was very exciting for me and gave me a "super rush" on life that I haven't felt in years.....I love to travel and see new people and places and moreso, to know that I was almost to where I would be meeting Jolie for the first time ever!! I wish I could have, but I never got a chance to take any photos because of cloudy weather and, the inability to get to my gear easily but, I will become a photo bug starting tomorrow so you can all see and appreciate this beautifful and very different country to what we know.When I arrived in Hanoi and made it through customs, Jolie was waiting there for me with a big smile and hug and kiss for me.........what she didn't know is when I got down on my knee and pulled the ring out for her and proposed to her in the middle of the airport..........a fellow traveler that I had met Wolfgang (thanks Wolfgang)......captured the moment with his camera for me to my and Jolie's suprise.........awesome!! I will upload the pic as soon as I recieve it from Wolfgang asap. Seeing Vietnam for the first time up-close was amazing.........you wouldn't believe the amount of moped motorcycles here.......everywhere you look..........and, no rules on the roads.......ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!I'm so very tired with not sleeping at all since wednesday, I felt like a zombie but I am sure that with a good nights sleep and some amazing vietnamese food tomorrow to start my day, I will be rechaged and "ready to rock" and get some more "super rushes" with my new life and, new wifey-to-be leaving monday we will go to meet my future mother-in-law, brother and sisters-in-laws too!! I'm super excited!!Anyway, I hope everyone is doing great......I appreciate all the positive feedback from my friends........great feeling it was to know that everyone think about me..............see you all soon with some great photos!
