Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States

So, I just had to post this awesome story. In this show, I am playing the mother, Kathryn Dover, to five little girls (one at a time of course!) who play my daughter named Sarah Dover. As they are all different, with different personalities, they all get different middle names, and as their 'mother' I get to pick those middle names. And one little girl whose real name is Carly, I named her Jessica.

Well, imagine it is opening night and all the directors and head honchos are in the audience. I am doing great, and feeling good. I am suppose to use my daughter's full name... so I open my mouth and I say...

"Sarah Jessica Parker"

My eyes get big. I can't pull the words back into my mouth. I hear giggles. I can't believe I just said that! No hesitation... no realization, until the words leave my lips...

Good times. Fond memories. Will never mess up her name again!

On a side note, I am working on updating my website, so please visit and let me know of your suggestions and/or comments!

EricaCantrell.com
Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States

Hello!

I have come back to Hershey, Pennsylvania to revise my role as Kathryn Dover, the mother of Sarah and wife of an absent Army husband, in the show "Home Sweet Home for Christmas" for Matt Davenport Productions and Hershey Park.

The ensemble is completely different this year, however two of the local men playing the role of Grandpa from the previous year have returned, as well as two of the little girls who play Sarah. They have had to cast three more little girls to alternate the role throughout the run. (Child Labor Laws....)

Rehearsals are going well and we open on Friday! YAY!!! The show will continue throughout the holidays and will close Dec. 31st.

Doing a Christmas show like this always makes me in a sentimental mood. Keep in touch - all of you!
Erica

Lebanon, Tennessee, United States

Breaking News!!! This just was released today!!!

Millworks Theatre, a multi-functional entertainment venue now open at The Mill at Lebanon in Lebanon, Tennessee, is proud to announce a special evening performance combining country music revue “That’s Country!” with legendary recording group Restless Heart on Friday, September 25.

Millworks Theatre’s "Evening Series" of musicals, comedies and dramas are performed on Thursday through Saturday evenings and Sunday Matinees. The "Afternoon Series" of fast paced song and dance variety shows, light comedies and musicals are Tuesday through Saturday matinees at 1:30PM. And now, theatre patrons can experience a little bit of “Branson”-style entertainment at Millworks Theatre with a show featuring guest artist, Restless Heart.

Legendary country music group Restless Heart is celebrating over 25 years of perfecting
the art of entertaining. Restless Heart came together in late 1983 as the by-product of a project by famed writer/producer Tim Dubois. He soon brought to the team fellow Oklahoman Scott Hendricks to co-produce and engineer the recording project which quickly lead to a record deal. Restless Heart signed a recording contract with RCA Records in 1984.

With the release of their first album in 1985, the vocal style of Restless Heart became instantly identifiable - an intertwining five-part harmony led by Larry Stewart, with Dave Innis on keyboards, Greg Jennings on lead guitar, Paul Gregg on bass and drummer John Dittrich. They brought a new, contemporary sound to Nashville, a sound with a touch of pop.

Gold became the standard for the group with the release of their self-titled album. Three more gold albums followed between 1986 and 1991. With an additional six albums released through the years, Restless Heart put 26 hits on the country charts with six #1 hits and nine others in the Top Ten. Cross-over success, rare in the music world, was also theirs with six songs making the adult contemporary charts, including taking the #1, #2 and #3 spots. Favorite song titles include “I’ll Still Be Loving You”, “The Bluest Eyes In Texas”, “When She Cries” and many more.

Millworks Theatre has teamed with the country group to create a special evening on Friday, September 25 and will present “That’s Country!” featuring Restless Heart. The theatre currently has a great production show that traces the history of Country Music from its early days to the present and features the talents of 10 area singers and dancers who perform over 80 song titles in a two-hour variety revue. Managing Director Kevin F. Raymond adds, “The second act of our show picks us up in 1984, which coincides perfectly with the 25th Anniversary of Restless Heart. We’ll perform those numbers as an opening act and then feature Restless Heart on the second half of the program. With a wonderful dinner being provided by Two Fat Men Catering in Lebanon, the evening is sure to be a hit!”

The Millworks team spoke with Restless Heart after a mutual business associate suggested a meeting. Millworks wants to add featured artists to its lineup and the country band is looking for a home when not on the road performing. One of the goals of Millworks is to create a destination for bus tour groups. Raymond has wondered for many years why people who travel to Music City USA can’t easily find the artists they come here to see. With artists who live in Nashville traveling to Branson and Pigeon Forge to perform, Middle Tennessee is losing out on a golden opportunity. “If we can pioneer that particular style of entertainment here in Middle Tennessee, we can not only can we capitalize on tourists who are already here to see their favorite artists, but also bring larger amounts of spending dollars and taxes into our area,” Raymond adds. He also hopes to be able to feature Restless Heart on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Tickets are slated to move quickly, so make your reservations early. Guests can check in at the box office at 6PM and dinner begins at 6:30PM. “That’s Country!” will present their 50 minute opening act before Restless Heart performs.

Artistic Director Keith F. Hardy tells us that tickets will be at two different price levels that evening. Regular admission to the show will be $50 which includes dinner and “That’s Country!” featuring Restless Heart. There will also be 100 VIP seats available at $100 per ticket. In addition to the regular admission, VIP tickets guarantee guests seating in the front two rows, complimentary champagne with dinner, and a reception following the concert where VIP guests can meet Restless Heart and have an opportunity to chat, take pictures and get autographs. A cash bar will available that night.

For its 2009 season, Millworks Theatre will be open from August 18th to December 31st. Starting in 2010, the theatre will be open year-round. So much so that we added a night show on Saturday September 26th! Here are some pics the director, Kevin Raymond, took during dress rehearsal!

It is a country revue show called, "That's Country," and is jam packed with lotsa singing and dancing. The show is made up of 10 cast members, four of which went to Belmont University, too!

I am really excited about the show, and even more excited about the theatre itself, and what they plan to do and their overall goals and vision. It is just starting, so all the kinks are getting worked out, but it should be well worth it!

"That's Country" will be performing Tuesday thru Saturday each week after opening during the lunch hour. It is a dinner theatre show, well, more appropriately, a lunch theatre show. And to get the buzz going, for the first two weeks, they are doing a dessert theatre show with a discounted price. The catering company is called Two Fat Guys Catering, and suppose to be really good!

The building is an old cotton mill that closed in 1996 that they are converting into a convention space with restaurants, shopping, and of course the theatre! (Kinda like the Factory in Franklin TN, if you know about that place!)

So come out and support a great start to a great theatre!

Erica
