Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands

So we have been in Barcelona for 4 days now. I am happy to have warm weather again! The first 2 days were beautiful, the last 2 a bit rainy. So what's a girl to do but shop when it rains. Gotta stay indoors right? I am staring the American financial crisis right in the face and saying "screw you, I'm on vacation!" Why have good credit if you can't use it?
Met up with a dear friend Michael here in Barcelona. He got me involved in this bus trip to Madrid for the weekend, I will leave in the morning. Get to go with people from all over the world, pretty excited about that! Haven't done much sight seeing while in Barcelona. We did do a bus tour and we saw a bunch of Gaudi's architecture, amazing! Also visited Parc Guell which is where Gaudi used to live and it is a park that he helped design. Gonna leave momma to fend for herself for a couple of days, I think she is looking forward to going at her own pace and seeing what she wants to see.
All in all it has been a pretty amazing trip. Not looking forward to returning to work but looking forward to coming home. I return from Madrid late Sunday night and fly home Monday morning. The time went as fast as it came, I love this ride called life!
Paris, Île-de-France, France

Well I am feeling 100 times better after the surgery and I have been on a mission in Paris to catch up. My Mom and I decided to stay an extra couple of days since we missed alot while I was in the hospital. We will leave for Barcelona on Sunday night. Yesterday we went to the Palace of Versailles. Beautiful! And today we went to the Louvre. I did in fact see the Mona Lisa as well as the Venus de Milo. I gotta tell you, I was expecting the Mona Lisa to be bigger, I guess thats what a lot of people say. I didn't bother taking a picture because people were crowded around it like it was Jesus passing out miracles. I saw her, that was enough for me. The Louvre is massive, we only covered a portion of it but we saw so many amazing art works. I convinced my Mom to get in a wheelchair and I wheeled her around that place like you wouldn't believe. I played the asian driver gig up big time! Get out of the way or loose a toe, you decide!
Paris, Île-de-France, France

Well I have to admit that the first part of my Paris trip hasn't exactly gone like I had hoped. We got here on a Saturday when the city was absolutely buzzing with humanity. I haven't been feeling well pretty much my whole trip, my throat has been really swollen and painful. But I just chocked it up to the stress of flying and being exposed to all kinds of crazy shit, not a big deal. But by my third day in Paris it had worsened so my Mother suggested we see a doctor. We did. Prognosis not good. Turns out I had an infection in my tonsils that had to be surgically removed. So I got to stay at a Parisian hospital for two days, what an experience! I can't post the pics cause my Mom's camera is acting up but trust me it was a trip! I had never had any kind of surgery before, leave it to me to do it up in style, Paris style to be exact. I did get a few pics around the Louvre before the whole ordeal so I will post those. Now that I got that out of the way, here's hoping the rest of the trip will be amazing!
Bennekom, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

I blinked and Munich was over. Such a great time and I met such great people. I have a theory in life that good people attract other good people and this trip definitely helped solidify that. Our last night was super fun and we met some cool ass chics. The weather in Munich stayed beautiful for us. Just 2 days of rain, the rest were amazing. Arriving in Amsterdam in a bit, a little hungover but totally psyched. Thank you Munich for the time of my life!
Paris, Île-de-France, France

Just arrived in Paris today and I gotta be honest, it is insane here! I thought I had been to a big city before, but this is crazy. People and cars and bikes all over the place and mind you in no organized fashion whatsoever! It is a little overwhelming so I am hoping to have a better view of it all tomorrow. The city itself is beautiful (a little dirty) and I can't wait to take in some of the history and architecture. More to come!
Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

I found myself taking alot of pictures in Amsterdam of the buildings. The history that lies in the architecture there is amazing. We did all the typical stuff while in Amsterdam. Went to the Anne Frank house but didn't go inside (the line was crazy). My one mission was of course to smoke weed and boy did I. Got my Mom to smoke with me the first night, the second night I went to the same coffeeshop and met a man named Sal and his two sons that were taking a trip much like me and my Mom. Sal wanted to show his sons his favorite places in Amsterdam, clearly from under a hazy fog of pot smoke. Smoked out of a vaporizer for the first time, that was amazing, I totally want one now!
Got to see Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Rembrandt, Picasso, Mondrian, and Gaughin (just to name a few) paintings in person. Took a canal tour which was beautiful. Also went to the Sex museum with my Mom, a little awkward, couldn't bring myself to get a picture with the giant penis. Damn it all! I really liked Amsterdam, it is a beautiful city and quite easy to navigate.
Munich, Germany

We arrived in Munich day before yesterday and it has been one hell of a trip already! The first night we of course had to check out the Hofbrauhaus just to get a small taste of what was in store for us the following day at Oktoberfest. Yesterday we went in the morning to buy our dirndls (the cute little dresses the girls wear to the festival) and then it was off to Oktoberfest. We ate hendl (roasted chicken) and drank lots of beer. Kacie drank 4 mas (large glasses=1 liter) which was quite impressive to our hosts, I guess the girls here don't normally do that. I knew my girl could hang though. I only had 2 mas of radler which is beer mixed with lemonade, it was yummy. I also had some herbal enhancement but that is not so welcomed at Oktoberfest, which I guess I understand. It is a beer festival after all. These germans sure know how to party, it was pure drunken debauchery for sure! Tonight we will watch a soccer game and this weekend it is more Oktoberfest and partying. I better get some good sleep in, I will be needing it to keep up with these wild and crazy germans!
London, England, United Kingdom

Just touched down in London town! So Kacie and I made it to London safe and sound. A little trouble at the immigration desk, apparently our fly by the seat of our pants attitude was not warmly recieved because you need to have the address of the place you are staying. We were told we will be "monitored" during our stay in England. Really how much trouble can Kacie and I get into? Wait a minute, I forgot who I was talking about here!
Hit up our first british pub (followed by several others), we will save the fish and chips for tomorrow but I did have sheperd's pie for dinner. Yum! It is cold here but not out of control. We will see what adventure unfolds tomorrow!
