I guess Florence, for all of its cultural brilliance doesnt have much of a night life.

Great beautiful place though, and still perishingly hot. As with Rome, most of the middle of the day was spent finding shade or air conditioning to prevent vaporisation by the sun.

Dom and Gavin moaned a lot about peeling sunburn.

:)
xxx
Berlin, Germany

Ok... so getting here wasn't so easy...

We planned on getting the night train from Munich to Berlin at 11pm, so we thought we'd have so much time we went to the cinema. What we hadnt thought about was that the film would finish at ten, we'd have to travel half way round the city to pick up our bags from the hostel half way back again to the train station and then get dinner all in an hour.

All this basically involved a lot of running for trains/busses/trams/undergrounds etc and made us all realise how unfit we are. Dinner consisted of a slice of pizza and a bottle of water bought hastily from a fast food stand in the station whilst running for the train.

Thankfully we got there just in time.... actually it didn't leave for another 10 mins anyway (so much for German punctuality). We also then realised after much confusion between us, some japanese and some german tourists that the ticket office had booked us places for the wrong day....... much grovelling to the guard followed.

After all our bad luck it seemed like the winds had changed and as it happened there were some free seats which we comandeered and tried to get as much sleep as possible, which wasnt very much at all.

Arriving in Berlin, stinking, unwashed, tired and all the rest all we wanted to do was just get to our room, shower and go to bed... of course nothing ever runs smoothly - we couldnt get into the room until 4pm.

We decided to do a bit of sight-seeing: Berlin wall, brandenburg gate, Reichstag, Alexanderplatz. and then came back to the hostel for a well earned nap.

Had a really nice kebab for dinner (hope its not as bad for the bowels as the dodgy indian prague - projectile vomit inducing (not me!!! was v impressive to watch tho!)))

no more time bye!
It was a really beutiful place and on the first night we went to a traditional Italian community festival type thing.. A bit of a shock when we'd just rolled off a boiling train reaking of body odour.

We had a water fight, BBQ and went swimming. There was an amazing water slide about 25m tall, which breaks your back and other parts of the anatomy...

It was great and then we went on to florence...

Stay tuned for more info!
Munich, Bavaria, Germany

Hi Guys, Munich calling!

We've had a great stay here for the last three days in Bavaria. For our first day we totally chilled out and went 50 mins out of the city to the beutiful Bavarian Alps. We rented a boat and went out on a lake for a bit. Twas fab just chilling out on the lake and then having dinner in the little town there. Very stereotypical Bavaria.

Yesterday we went to the Dachau concentration camp memorial site, which was a really interesting and sobering experience.

Today we went on a free walking tour of Munich city centre, which was pretty interesting despite the poor weather. We're just chilling out at the hostel now before catching a night train to Berlin later.

PS just incase you hadnt realised, the rome entry arrived after the prague one because I wrote it afterwards. Ive been really bad at updating this so I'm gunna try and fill in the massive gap in the next few days.

C ya
Rome, Lazio, Italy

Ive been trying to uplpad photos for ages and cant get it to work at all so i give up, sorry.

Rome was scorchingly hot. Aparrently records for the hottest summer have been broken in seven cities in Italy so far this year, and Rome is definately one of them. The most part of our day between about 12 and 2 was spent finding somewhere shady or cool enough to not get vapourised by the sun.

The sights were pretty cool. On the first night we went to the colusseum and had a walk round with it all lit up which was pretty spectacular. We then returned the next day to have our wallets significantly lightened for the pleasure of seeing the inside. We went to palletine hill and the forum, which is a massive load of Roman ruins. Absolutey huge arches, aquaducts and tunnels. You can really imagine how impressive ancient Rome must have been

In the evening we visited St Pauls Square which proved very photogenic at sunset, but I cant upload the photos so youll have to wait to see them!

The next day we went to Trevi fountain and the Pantheon which were both impressive, if a little crowded with hundreds of american and japanese tourists... and indian men trying to sell tat.

We went to a cool openair bar... with drnks at a cool 5 euros a pop... we had one drink and left...

So that was Rome!
