Greetings to those reading this!

Yes, I know my attempts to keep this blog updated have been abysmal..I apologize for that. Things got busy and I just wasn't able to keep up. I am even still working on completely catching my personal journal up as well...although that is much better along. Anyways, I have reach my last week here in Cork, Ireland. I have one exam tomorrow and two on Tuesday and then I am officially a senior, which is scary. Even more unbelievable, however, is the fact that I will be leaving Cork on Wednesday and leaving Ireland on Thursday. This place that I have called home for the past 5 months...will soon be just a memory; physically captured by my writing and photographs and hopefully captured at a deeper level by my memories and feelings associated with this place. I have developed a sense of comfort in this place, one that I began to associate with 'home'. I felt that the most when I returned after my month-long travels through the rest of Ireland and Europe. I realized that I had almost taken for granted this great city, and the past month I have spent my time really trying to get to know the city at an intimate level. To my surprise, I had gotten to know the city pretty intimately, I just hadn't realized it. Regardless, I still spent a lot of time exploring and discovering new things, and I am most certainly looking forward to my return at some point in the future.

There will be other things that I take home with me that will certainly bring back memories of my time spent here. The music I listened to the most, the food I ate (I will never look at cheap pasta and PB&J's ever the same again..although they will be always looked at in a postive light..), the activities in which I partook, my thoughts, feelings, ideas, and everything else that I experienced in my day to day life here...not necessarily "Irish", but I will always associate with Ireland now.

It has been a great semester, with many highs and lows...just like any semester. I hope to finish strong with my exams over the next two days and then head home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I am looking forward to seeing friends and family and beginning a new stage in my life. I feel that after any life-changing experience like this has been, one begins a new stage in life. Mine just so happens to be beginning the summer before senior year, only a year before yet another stage of my life will begin. I have created a lot on my agenda for this summer, mostly things that I have always enjoyed and I want to bring back. I am really looking forward to a hard-working, yet relatively laid back summer.

As for the fall...well, that's pretty far ahead. Let's focus on the present at the moment. Presently, I am lacking substantial amounts of sleep, I need to study, pack, and clean. And properly say 'goodbye' to this wonderful city. Soon enough I will be saying 'hello' to another wonderful city...Look out Chicago, I will see you Thursday afternoon. And Cleveland, see you on Saturday.

Until then, I will be thoroughly enjoying my final days in Cork...
