We had a woderful trip and a good flight back. We are still very happy to be back in the USA! Also our fourth grandchild was born today. Our blessings are great.Spent a bit of time in LA with Terry & Cheryl. Went the the Getty Museum & Monta Ray. Had fun hanging with old friends.

Melbourne is a gritty looking city, but feels pretty safe and friendly. Huge Market. One of the oldest in the world. Went to see Wicked last night in this cool old gothic theatre; Regent Theatre. The show was wonderful. Alphie was amazing! I'm feeling green!

The penguins were adorable. They are about the same size as sea guls. They come addling out of the water waiting for their mate to catch up before they head to their little caves to feed their little ones. We even had two of them get all excited and do the nasty right in front of us. Sorry no photos of them. they only come in at dark and flash photorgaphy scares them and they throw up, then have nothing to feed their babies. I can't risk that for selfish pictures. Lots of Wallabies on Kangaroo island too. (They look like small kangaroos, too dark to shoot. Great fun though.

We finished The Great Ocean Road today. What a breathtaking trip. Limestone cliffs, Rocky shores and rolling hill sides. Quaint little fishing & surfing towns. Very friendy people too. We arrived in Geelong. Have to head to Melburne and turn in the car tomarroow. Not looking forward to loosing our freedom. Brand new mall here. Not much time! Girls just want to have fun!!!

What an amazing trip! The first trip in to view The Great Ocean Rd, was a cow path. I am not exagerating! They were huge too, the cattle that is. Every stop amazed us. We have more photos. We learned this morning what they mean by fast changing tides. They are not kidding. Nice town, quiet hotel located close to all the food and shops. Free internet here! Town is pretty and fun too. We think we are going to hang out awhile before we hit the road tomarrow. Have not found the Fairy Penguins as yet. Maybe tomarrow. The weather was much better today.

Very windy today along the ocean. Still a plesant trip. The toyota certainly does not have the passing power I am accoustomed to. Lots of great curvy roads for the Mustang though.We are staying at this hotel by chance. It is right on this perfect water ski lake! Ski club meets on the beach across an access road from the hotel. Too bad it is cold and windy. Doubt there will be any skiiers out. Gave me an understanding of why people would live here. Gale foce winds and the lake is like glass! Also we had a wonderful dinner tonight. Seafood is amazing here. It is a crabbing town. We ate at the Caledonian Inn, recomended by our hosts at Lucy's Steve & Chris. Very good lead!

Drove along the remainder of the Limestone Coast Today. Better weather than yesterday still cool, breezy and a few showers. Port Ferry was lovely! Our favorite stop of the day. Staying in Warrnambool toinght. Bigger city for the coast, right at the start of the Great Ocean Rd. Had a great steak dinner at the Beach Bablon tonight. They raise as much beef around here as fish they catch. Staying at the Atwood, centrally located, clean and simple.Off to the Great Ocean Road in the morning.

Way to much Asian food in this city, great market though. Our apartment was a nice break. Spacios, clean with kitchen and laundry in the apartment. A real bedroom too.Rented a car here, driving not as bad a we thought. Going pretty well actually. A Toyota, don't tell anybody! Drove to Birdwood to the Motor Museum. It was fun to see, even the American cars don't look the same. Met a bunch of Harley drivers there.On the way there we saw Big Red's (large kangaroos) in the wild.

Yes We Can!Finally took a few photos of our cottage home here in the Barrossa. Kind of like a blend of a farm stay and a bed & breakfastIt's nice to be able to walk next door and have a bit of wine.It was fun to watch the election results from the land down under as well.A couple more wineries to hit today. How much can a girl drink. It's good to be here for awhile so we can just do a few per day, it will save us from getting busted for drunk driving. Seems like they drink & drive pretty regularr here anyway.Many thanks to our fine hosts; Steve & Chris Hoff and LeAnne! We had a wonderful stay! The cottage has both old world charm and modern convience.

I'm afraid we are getting use to the layed back attitude here. Truely enjoying the country. Should have skiped staying in Adelaide and came right here. We will hate to leave. Stpoed in at Penfolds yesterday, a bit more comercial as you would expect. Took a walk around town, had a nice greman lunch and went back to the cabin to relax and dirnk wine.
