It was a scheduling nightmare, but the four finally found a time to get together for lunch at Manuel's. Jennifer & Bert treated Carol & Michael to a yummmmm Mexican lunch. We sat outside on the patio where the weather was A-1! We had such a nice time, squeezing in as much socializing and catching up before we headed out. Thank you, Bert & Jennifer!

Lisa threw a perferctly proper Austin, Texas send-off for Michael & Carol. From scrumptious Texas sausage thrown on the bbq to savory fresh vegetables also bbq'd, the non-stop communal munching and chatting completed the setting for family togetherness.

Marie and Jim McDermott hosted an absolutely delightful party for us which they dubbed Shanghai Shower. It was a combined Bon Voyage party and Baby Shower to celebrate the upcoming delivery of the baby Carol & Michael are in the process of adopting from China.

The McDermott's garden was as beautifully groomed as always and especially decorated in Asian style including handmade decorations from Shu-Ling, Carol's Chinese teacher, and Bert Thompson, dear friend of Carol's Mom.

The band that Doug and Jim now play with, Nichols and Dimes, entertained the guests with their contemporary country sounds. Carol joined Jim and Doug later to re-live some Rigamarole times.

It was a super fun night and we'll never forget the happiness and joy everyone wished us. It was the best send-off we could have imagined.
