The ideal place to start or finish your charter cruise. Bodrum has long been the boatbuilding center of Turkey and has an excellent marina plus many anchorages to sail to within easy distance.

        Bodrum - Mugla, Turkey

Blue cruise (cruising in Southwest Turkey) is one of the most relaxing vacations on earth. It is a unique form of cruising and yachting experience, an adventure that takes you to the magic of myths three millennia old, under the Mediterranean sun and in the turquoise blue of the crystal clear waters. It is also an opportunity to taste Turkish cuisine as well as fresh fish. A yachting holiday is the ideal way to see the best of Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean coastline. Many of the archaeological sites are accessible from the sea and the turquoise waters are a joy to swim in. Gulets are traditionally designed and locally built wooden motor sailing yachts. These yachts range in size from two to eight cabins and all cabins usually have wc/shower en-suite. The cabins of the crew are completely separated from those of the passengers. The gulets offer enough space to the passengers in the cabins, in the aisles and on the deck. The crew consists of a captain, a cook and one or two deckhands who are all experienced in their work. Although the gulets are essentially motor yachts, it is possible to sail certain distances during a Blue Cruise. You can shape your cruise itinerary as you wish before booking. Usually the daily duration of cruising is not longer than 3-4 hours, and the rest of the day can be spent in a gorgeous cove enjoying the sun and the sea. Sunbathing on the deck, swimming in clear waters, snorkeling, windsurfing, water skiing or just fishing... Or anchoring in a cove and trekking in the wild nature, visiting a nearby village and coming closer to local people and their traditions or visiting an ancient ruin. Here, in the midst of the idyll, you can feel the touch of nature and history. True to its spirit, the ideal itinerary for a Blue Voyage must allow you to best penetrate the sense and soul of places where you anchor. So, instead of rushing from one spot to the next, a program has to strike a balance between the time spent at sea, the time passed in various bays, villages or ancient sites and the time required to enjoy them. For those on a private cruise, we recommend an itinerary visiting as many places as possible without making the cruise tiresome. Cabin charter tours are scheduled in accordance with this philosophy, as well. FOOD The food on board, for guests and crew is not included in the price of the yacht. Shopping and cooking services are included in the price of the yacht. All meals are cooked on board by the cook unless guests wish to eat out at any time. Meals are based on fresh vegetables, fresh fish, meat (beef or lamb), chicken, fresh fruits, cheese, eggs and yoghurt. Cuisine is mainly based on Turkish Mediterranean home cooking. Vegetarian dishes can also be cooked upon request. DRINK On our gulets, we do not run a bar. All the drinks requested by the charterer are purchased by us at cost and put on board. Crew does the service. There is a large selection of good quality Turkish wines as well as beer, imported spirits, mixers, fruit juices and other soft drinks. The traditional Turkish drink, Raki is certainly worth a try. PROVISIONING Stocking up a boat for a week or two, takes time and careful planning. We do not want our guests to lose that time from their holiday. Our policy is to prepare the yacht according to personal requirements of the charterers before their arrival. We suggest the charterers to choose either our full board on a fixed price or provisioning according to their personal requirements at cost. WEATHER CONDITIONS The cruising season on the Aegean Coast lasts from May to October. In MAY, days are warm, evenings cool. The sea is warm enough for swimming, the countryside is very green. JUNE and SEPTEMBER are hot, evenings are warm. A dependable breeze makes these two months very pleasant for cruising. JULY and AUGUST are warmest months, blue skies are guaranteed every day. In OCTOBER, good weather can last right through the end of the month except for the occasional rain showers but sea is warmer than May. For clients who wish to take advantage of lower season prices and prefer to cruise at a time when bays are far less crowded with other boats, May, June, September and October are ideal. CRUISING AREAS & SUGGESTED ITINERARIES The South Western coast of Turkey is one of the best cruising areas in the world. You could spend a year cruising this coast from Kuþadasý to Antalya and still not see everything. When you come on a Transbalkan Gulets Holiday for a week, two weeks or longer, whichever itinerary you choose, will definitely give plenty of time to relax and explore, cruising no more then 4 - 5 hours a day with stops for swimming and long leisurely lunches. Visiting historical sites, shopping in resort towns, or anchoring in secluded bays with just the sound of water lapping against the side of the boat are all possible. We believe that every taste can easily be satisfied along this diverse coastline. Once you are on board a Transbalkan Gulet, one of our staff will show you the possibilities, make suggestions and then let you to decide your own program. BODRUM - BODRUM Day 1... Board your sailing yacht in Bodrum. Bodrum is known in ancient times as Halicarnasus was the Birthplace of Herodotus and the site of the Tomb of King Mausolus (4th Century B.C.) one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Her wife who also happens to be her sister had this tomb built after King Mausolus' death to make his name immortal. An impressive medieval castle built by the Knights of Rhodes guards the entrance to Bodrum. Castle of St. Peter or Bodrum Castle in the harbour is a fine example of 15th Century crusader architecture and has been converted into a Underwater Archeology Museum. Enjoy a welcome drink and receive a brief orientation about the yacht and the cruise. Dinner and overnight in Bodrum Harbour. Day 2... Departure after breakfast. After a one-hour cruise, we arrive at first stop near Karaada, a tiny island off the Bodrum coast. After lunch, we cruise 3-4 hours before arriving in Çati, a lovely bay ringed by pine trees on the south coast of the gulf. Dinner and overnight here. Day 3... We cruise for about 1.5 hours after breakfast, arriving in an area known as Seven Islands. In Küfre Bay, we suggest you take a short walk through the forests of storax (liquidamaber), a rare, endangered tree from which myrrh is extracted. If the group wants, tonight is the perfect time for a barbecue! Overnight in Seven Islands. Day 4... After breakfast, a short cruise of 1.5 hours brings us to Löngöz Bay. In the afternoon, after cruising another 1.5 hours, we arrive in Karacasögüt. On the western coast of the island is a wonderful little beach reputedly created with sand brought from North Africa expressly for the bathing pleasures of Cleopatra. Late in the afternoon, we leave the island to anchor in one of the bays of Degirmenbükü. A small creek on the western side of this bay is called Ingiliz Limaný (English Harbour), a reference to the English torpedo boats that hid in this cove during WW-II. Overnight in English Harbour. Day 6... We depart English Harbour and cruise to the northern side of the Gulf, to Akbük. Airports nearest to the ports of embarkation / disembarkation are usually preferred. Upon request, MELTEM YACHTING can arrange your transfers between the airports and the yachts. The Greek airports on the islands of Cos and Rhodes can also be used for arrivals and departures. This however entails additional costs in the form of Greek harbour charges and taxes. PROVISIONS On crewed yacht charters provisioning lists (food and drinks) are usually sent to the customer ahead of time, in which case the captain or the agency makes the purchases of food and drinks before the guests arrive. This is then paid for at embarkation upon presentation of invoices. The customers may choose to do their own shopping for provisions or bring some with them - customs-free alcoholic beverages and special foods are among items often brought aboard by the guests. Your meals are prepared in the yacht's galley -this term does not refer to a type of medieval ship often rowed by slaves but to the boat's kitchen; the galley-slave here is the ship's cook ! WHAT IS A CREWED YACHT CHARTER Crewed yacht charter is the hire of a complete yacht, with captain and crew, for a specific period of time (usually one or more weeks). The route of the cruise is subject to agreement between the contracting parties, as are the ports of embarkation and disembarkation. The charter fee does not include the cost of food but does include its preparation and service. WHAT IS THE BLUE VOYAGE The Blue Voyage is the surest way to get rid of all of your blues, but that is not really how the name was coined. Originated in Bodrum in the late 1950's by groups of writers, painters, and others interested in natural beauty and historical sites, the Blue Voyage started in the Gulf of Gökova and later extended to include the more distant southern shores of Turkey. Visit our map for details. Under the bluest of blue skies, in the bluest of blue waters, the Blue Voyage is a leisurely cruise of relaxation and exploration: The crew will pamper you, feed you delicious, healthy food and take you to anchor in lovely coves and bays where you can swim, snorkel, surf and visit the sites of ancient civilizations. And at night, as you sip a drink of your choice, you will feel that you can stretch out your arms and gather handfuls of stars. The magnificent clarity of the star-studded sky seen on a Blue Voyage night is a wonder virtually unknown by those who live in the cities of today MORE INFO These scripts and photographs are registered under © Copyright 2006, M/S Meltem 6 / Bodrum - Mugla - Turkey. Marmaris - Mugla, Turkey

ESER YACHTING / Marmaris - Mugla - Turkey The Blue Voyage is a sailing/motoring cruise on any stretch of the cleanest waters in the world between Bodrum to Antalya, where deep blue mingles with the green of the evergreen forest covered coastline. Ancient cities such as Knidos, Kaunos, Telmessos, Antiphellos, Myra, Olympos, Phaselis and the rock-tombs in the Lycian cities are there for your exploration if requested and your yacht could be sailing through from the antique regions of Karia, the Lycian and then on to the Pamphylia region. Everyday a new cove, a new bay to be explored. Endless natural beauty and history are enjoyed whilst cruising under the Mediterranean sun. As the Mediterranean coastline of Turkey is a treasure-chest of coves, inlets, bays and beaches, yachtsmen can easily choose a different and private anchorage each night. For lovers of the active life, sailing in the clear waters provides great opportunities for swimming, fishing, water skiing, wind surfing and diving. It also allows you to experience a truly enriching cultural exchange with the hospitable and gracious people of the coastal villages and towns. The tempered winds which generally blow from the west and northwest make the long summers ideal for the blue voyage. From some of the turquoise coast's unspoiled and sheltered bays you can see mountain peaks rising to almost 3000 meters above sea level. The pleasure of "Blue Voyaging" in Turkey will tempt you to return again and again, to explore yet another stretch of coast and to relieve the luxurious ease of life on the sea. Complete Yacht Charter For families and for friends who wish to join up for a private cruise, the chartering of the entire yacht, including crew is advantageous in every respect. As a private party, you are free to charter the yacht of your choice for any agreed period of time and you may also determine the route. You may provide the provisions or you can let Eser do the shopping thus saving you all that unnecessary hassle in the heat by just paying the daily rate for full board. There are no sailing grounds more beautiful than the entire Turkish Coast between Bodrum to the north-west of Marmaris and Antalya to the south-east. We'll provide only the basics of your voyage's program and then you'll be free to settle the rest of the details together with the Captain during the cruise. He will be happy to comply with your wishes, weather permitting. Days on board are always eventful and may differ greatly from each other depending on what Mother Nature has to offer. Quiet little bays with crystal clear waters or a lusty wind favorite for sailing, some ancient ruins beckoning on a hillside or a busy quaint little seaside town which you might like to visit. You can just let yourself drift along from day to day permitting the yacht to take the strain and enjoy the cruise in complete relaxation. All this adding up to make a perfectly special "Blue Voyage". Life on Board The modern gulets are equipped as comfortably as many small hotels, with generators and deep freeze. They offer the perfect atmosphere for a lazy holiday in which you are expected to do nothing that you do not wish to do. Days are spent swimming or exploring the turquoise deep with your snorkel, reading your favorite novel, trying the delicious Turkish cuisine, drinking something wonderful, sun bathing, windsurfing, playing cards and generally relaxing. Water and jet skis are available for rent from most beaches and land trips to plenty of ancient ruins are extras. You can even fish for your supper which the cook will gladly prepare for you. Mealtimes are another form of entertainment with exquisite Turkish cuisine and wonderful conversation. Having a meal under the stars on a calm sea gently lapping the sides of the boat is an experience not to be missed. It is like a holiday in a hotel with all the rooms overlooking the sea but every day the scenery changes. For those who prefer a different view each day and are prepared for the changing moods of Mother Nature then a holiday on a gulet is the perfect solution. What to bring with you ? You only need casual wear; non slip foot wear, your swimming gear, a sun hat, some T-shirts and shorts, a sweater for cool evenings excursions and walks, blue jeans and strong footwear. Instead of one large suitcase, we recommend that you use two smallish soft bags as they are far more convenient when it comes to stowing them away in your cabin. What else? Some towels, a mini first aid kit including antihistamine cream plus toiletries. Soap, one hand towel each plus bedding is provided. For the gentlemen who don't want to grow a holiday beard, a battery operated razor and shaving soap is essential. Please be forewarned that electrical appliances may only be connected whilst the yacht is tied up in port, so please have everything readily recharged. Security With the safety and enjoyment she offers, a gulet is the best initiation to yachting. Anyone can travel on a gulet. The crew is accustomed to the needs of the new passengers. The greatest phobia of landlubbers-seasickness-may start in a few hours but normally will soon disappear very quickly. The blue voyage consists of motoring or sailing stretches of that keep the yacht motoring or sailing for only 2 to 4 hours per day, from one secure bay to another. Your crew On a gulet, the crew is responsible for serving the passengers, as well as running the yacht. Crews usually consist of a Captain, Cook and Seaman/Mechanic and on the larger gulets a fourth crew member will be at your service. They are very friendly ensuring a relaxed atmosphere but at the same time extremely professional knowing the coastal waters and their yachts inside out. Due to their life on the sea, the crew members have a mind of information on the local history and surroundings being able to advise (using their practical language skills) on the best places to snorkel and anchor etc. Also you can get some super tips from the cook on local cuisine. Of course they are all water sport lovers and some even good divers. The crew will be glad to help out as far as their duties will permit and are there to give you an unforgettable Blue Voyage making you want to return just as the majority of our clients do. Charter of a Complete Yacht (Example Routes) The party is free to decide about details of the route and the cruise period. The minimum rentage is 5 days. As an example the following routes as well as the routes of the cabin charter and package program may help in your plannings: MARMARIS (KARACASOGUT) - BODRUM - MARMARIS ( Saturday - Saturday ) The cruise starts and finishes at Karacasögüt, a little bay within the Bay of Gökova, 22 km to the North of Marmaris. Day 1 : The Captain will offer you a welcome cocktail accompanied by some information about the cruise and then there'll be nothing to keep you from diving over board into the cool, clear waters of the bay. The cruise begins! Day 2 : After breakfast we'll weigh anchor for Cleopatra's Bay, about 5 sm. to the east. Cleopatra is said to have bathed there. The sand on the little beach is of a very special kind, to be found nowhere else in Turkey. After lunch we'll set course for Akbük Bay where we will stay for the night. Day 3 : We'll spend the morning hours sailing on towards the west. We'll stop over for lunch at the Orak Islands and a dip, then proceed to Bodrum. There we'll anchor in the Marina. You'll have the whole night to spend at will shopping, sightseeing and enjoying the lively night life of Bodrum. Day 4 : During the morning our ship will remain anchored in the marina so that you may visit the castle of Bodrum and the underwater museum where the remains of the oldest shipwreck ever salvaged and it's precious load of glassware can be seen. As soon as the usual early afternoon wind arises we'll leave Bodrum on a southerly course for ancient Knidos. Today there live just a few fishermen amongst the ruins, whereas in old times the town had a population of 70.000 inhabitants. Day 5 : On this day we'll cruise along the coast of Datça Peninsula. After a lunch stop at Inceburun we'll set for Bozburun. Bozburun is a quiet little fishing village. It used to be the centre of sponge fishing along the Turkish coast but nowadays people there earn their living in a much less dangerous way by building the typical broad beamed wooden boats called "gulets". For swimming and snorkeling around the underwater ruins in the bay, we'll stop first at Kýzýlada Island and then make fast at the village jetty for the night. Day 6 : We will start quite early in the morning, with a "sailing breakfast" being served when we are well under way. Our destination is the ancient harbor of Loryma on the south coast of Bozburun Peninsula. Loryma, with its impressive ruins and its turquoise water is very attractive. Day 7 : After a leisurely breakfast we'll set sail for Arab Island. Here we'll fully enjoy the sea for the last time on this cruise. With the setting sun we'll enter Marmaris Harbor. Day 8 : Breakfast on board for the last time. Then it's goodbye until we meet again another time, for another cruise. MARMARIS - FINIKE - MARMARIS ( Saturday - Saturday ) DAY 1 : When all members of your group have arrived, the Captain will order you a welcome cocktail and give some information about the cruise. The first night we'll stay in Marmaris Harbor so that you'll have ample time to get acquainted with this friendly little town and maybe participate in its night life. DAY 2 : After breakfast we'll depart on a southerly course for Kadirga Bay where you may enjoy yourself with bathing and windsurfing while the crew prepares lunch. Later in the day we set sails for Semirce Bay, our anchorage for the night. DAY 3 : If you choose the land tour, a small river boat will come and fetch us for an excursion into the delta of Dalyan River. First we'll be taken to the ruins of ancient Caunos and then we'll go on upriver to the sulphury mud baths which are great fun. On our return into the delta, we may spend some time on the extensive, sandy beaches of Dalyan and bathe in the shallows there before our boat takes us back to our yacht. On the beaches of Dalyan no visitors are permitted after nightfall because these are one of the last breeding grounds of the Mediterranean sea turtle. DAY 4 : We are going to weigh anchor very early in the morning so that we may catch the strong wind which is usually blowing off Dalaman beach in the first hours of the day. We'll sail on to Gemili Island. This is a perfect place for the explorers amongst you. It is covered with ruins, some Byzantanic, some much older, but history knows nothing about the people who lived there. DAY 5 : Today's destination is the little harbor of Kalkan, which we'll reach at some time in the afternoon. There we'll have the chance to rent a minibus which will take us to Xanthos, once the most important town of Lycia, then to the ancient holy place, Letoon and last of all to Patara, a Lycian harbor town, half buried under huge sand dunes. DAY 6 : Today we'll set course for Kekova with its wealth of beautiful bays and islands, many of them with traces of continuous inhabitation for more than 200 years. Through the clear water you can recognize ancient ruins on the bottom of the sea and you can feast your eyes on the impressive castle which the Lycians built, the Romans have enlarged and the Selchuks have restored. For the night we'll anchor at Gökgemili, a little bay on the eastern tip of Kekova Island. DAY 7 : In the morning we'll weigh anchor for an excursion to ancient Myra with its Lycian rock tombs and its great Roman Theater and to the church of St. Nicholas in Demre. Then a trip to beautiful Arycanda is possible, a Lycian town built on seven terraces high up in the mountains. On our way down, we may stop by a fish farm and purchase fresh mountain trout for tonight's dinner. DAY 8 : This day is mainly dedicated to swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing in the quiet bays of Kekova. In the afternoon we'll go on to Kaþ, a quaint little Mediterranean town. There, we'll stay for the night and explore the many tiny souvenir shops and lovely little bars with live music DAY 9 : Today we are going to spend more time than usual underway, because we have to cover a distance of 60 sea miles to our next destination, the famous lagoon "Ölüdeniz", with its turquoise water and snow white sandy beach. For the night we'll drop anchor in one of the nearby coves. DAY 10 : After breakfast we'll set course for Fethiye Bay. In the evening we'll make fast in Fethiye's marina. The town is a lively touristic centre with may shops and open air lively touristic centre with may ships and open air restaurants lining the streets. Of course there is also a disco. The Lycian graves in the rock wall in the back of the town, amongst them the tomb of Prince Amyntas, constitute a striking contrast to the modern architecture of today's Fethiye. DAY 11 : In the morning we'll depart from Fethiye for the Yassica Islands in the western part of the bay where we shall spend some time swimming and windsurfing. For the night we'll anchor in Tersane Island. Many centuries ago the people who lived in this region used to build their wooden ships here. Some ruins of the old shipyards are still visible. DAY 12 : There is such a wealth of beautiful little bays, many of them with the forest coming right down to the edge of the water, which it is difficult to choose amongst them. We'll simply unfurl the sails and see in which direction the wind takes us. DAY 13 : Our last stop within Fethiye Bay is Diþibilmez. That's a paradise for snorkeling fans. People who are fond of hiking are attracted by Aga Limani and the hilly forested country surrounding it. DAY 14 : On our way to Marmaris, we'll stop behind Nimara Island for lunch. There we'll put in some more hours of swimming and snorkeling before we'll have to weigh anchor for Marmaris in time to arrive whilst the sun is setting. DAY 15 : It's time for our last breakfast on board then to say good bye until we meet again - some other time - for another cruise. Cabin Charter Cruises for singles or couples are great fun. They are designed for people who wish to make the holiday a totally new experience alongside new friends. Such cruises are often multi-national affairs, which make them especially interesting. These "Blue Voyages" always start and finish on Saturdays in Marmaris. Boarding starting at 15.00 hours depending on flight arrivals. The yacht actually leaves the harbor on Sunday morning after breakfast. Although following a set route, no place is visited twice during any cruise, so that your last day on board will be as interesting as your first. Full board is included in the price, served in an open buffet style with beverages and alcoholic drinks being bought from the yacht's bar. Please note that any land tours will be at an extra charge and are optional. Your yacht will arrive back late Friday afternoon enabling a final night in the highlife of Marmaris before disembarking latest 10.00 on Saturday morning. A- Cabin Charter and Package Program for Groups (One Week Cruises) MARMARIS - FETHIYE - MARMARIS Saturday - Saturday ) DAY 1 : When all members of your group have arrived the skipper will welcome you with a cocktail and answer any questions you may have about the trip. For your first night on board we'll stay in the harbor so that you may get acquainted at leisure with lively Marmaris. DAY 2 : After breakfast we depart for Ekincik Bay, some distance to the south east of Marmaris. If you choose the land tour, you will be met by a river boat which will take the group to the site of ancient Caunos in the delta of Dalyan river, and then upriver further to the sulphury mud baths supposedly very cleansing for your skin. The extensive sandy beaches of Dalyan delta are one of the last breeding places of the Mediterranean sea turtle. DAY 3 : Even before you wake up in the morning the yacht will leave Ekincik so as to profit from the morning wind which usually blows off Dalaman beach. With all sails set, you'll be served an uncomplicated sandwich breakfast. For lunch and a dive into crystal clear water we'll drop anchor in Manastir Bay. Later in the afternoon we will sail on to Bedri Rahmi Bay, "creator" of the blue voyages. We'll anchor in this lovely place for the night. DAY 4 : On this day we'll set sail for Tersane Island. Many centuries ago the people of this region built their wooden ships here. You can still see ruins of the ancient shipyard. Later in the day we'll sail on to Göçek, our anchorage for the night. Göçek is a small village but recently it has developed into a yachting base with two marinas and many yachting facilities. Day 5 : After breakfast, we'll leave Göçek for Kargi Bay, a quiet picturesque location where we'll spend ample time swimming, snorkeling and wind surfing. In the afternoon we'll go on to the town of Fethiye. You'll surely spend some time in town, sight-seeing, shopping or visiting disco club Letoonia. DAY 6 : In the morning we'll cross the quiet expanses of Fethiye Bay to Diþibilmez. This little bay is a paradise for snorkeling fans. What's more, it's also a meeting place for many kinds of fish, just waiting to be caught. Good luck to any fishermen amongst us! DAY 7 : After breakfast we'll set sail for Kadirga Bay where we'll spend some time swimming, surfing, snorkeling and for a last dive into the clear water of outer Marmaris Bay, then with the setting sun we'll make fast for Marmaris quay. DAY 8 : Our last breakfast together, then it'll be time to say goodbye until we meet again, some other time for another cruise. BODRUM - GULF OF GOKOVA - BODRUM ( Monday - Monday ) DAY 1 After boarding your yacht, Captain will offer welcome cocktails where you will have a chance to meet your fellow guests. He will give information about the voyage and yacht. As you will be spending your first night in Bodrum there will be the opportunity to taste its famous night life. DAY 2 Departure after breakfast beginning with a cruise of 3-4 hours, we arrive at Çati, the lovely tranquil bay surrounded with pine trees on the south coast of the gulf of Gökova. Dinner and overnight here in the region of "Seven Islands". DAY 3 After breakfast we will give a stop in the Küfre bay, where you will be able to take a short walk through the storax (liquidambar) forest. In the afternoon we will arrive at Löngöz Village for dinner and overnight. DAY 4 Today we will visit the Island Cleopatra (Cedreae). On the west of the island, a wonderful little beach is situated. It's said that the sand of this beach was brought by Antonious for Cleopatra from the desert of North Africa. Late in the afternoon, we leave the island to anchor in Karacasögüt. (This small village is only 30 km from Marmaris and you have the opportunity to go there by taxi or a small bus.) DAY 5 Leaving Karacasögüt, we arrive after short cruise Tuzla (Saline) bay, a small creek on the west side of this bay called Ingiliz Limani (English Harbour). This name is derived from the Second World War, where English torpedo boats hid from the German battle ships. Dinner and overnight in one of the lovely bays here around. Marmaris - Mugla, Turkey

Blue cruise is a discovery of Turkey's Turquoise Coast on a yachting holiday unlike any other. Many exotic beaches and picturesque islands are difficult and sometimes impossible to access from land, and the only way to see their intimate sights is to go by sea. Only the Blue Cruise will give you the chance to explore the numerous bays and coves between the ports of Kusadasi, Bodrum, Marmaris, Göçek, Fethiye and Antalya on Turkey's Aegean and southern coasts, presenting a varied cruising opportunity. Tranquil anchorages contrast with lively resorts, the bustle of the bazaar and the rich history of bleached ancient cities - all set against a landscape of breathtaking scenery. The intended route should be thought over still at home, because you should outline it in your chartering documents. Meals on board are especially good and freshly prepared, including a variety of fresh salads, fruits, grilled meats, seafood, local fish and Turkish specialties. Afternoon tea is served with biscuits or cakes. You have the option to include full board meals for your group at the time of booking. Gulet What is a gulet? A small sea craft. A refined version of a traditional fishing and cargo vessel used by fisherman and sponge divers to transport their catch. Romance enclosed: ravishing sunsets, splashes of sea-water and seagulls astern. A cabin to dry your hair and have a drink to get warm after the sunset. Just a pastime for skippers and skipperesses of fifteen! Is it? Nothing of the kind. In the world of yachts watercrafts are clearly divided into castes, and the Gulets are the hand-made charter yachts. Their decks are equipped with many comforts: several bedrooms with en-suite toilets and showers, a saloon with fine wines and branded strong drinks, a dining area at the rear deck, and sun tanning area on the front deck. These are the yachts of comfort and relaxation. Aboard such a yacht one can go on a voyage, celebrate jubilees or just have a rest. Building such a beauty usually costs quite a sum and lasts for several years. That's why along with the new yachts the old ones keep on furrowing the seas. They get some renewal at the yards, with restoration of interior and other alterations. Private Charter From the moment you charter one of our yachts, the possibilities that lie open to you are endless. Your wish is our command and your destination your decision. You may be tempted to wake up in an exotic port or moored in an elegant harbor somewhere along the Turkish Riviera. You may prefer to seek the tranquillity of a hidden cove or enjoy an idyllic island all by yourself. Every day, you choose your own stunning backdrop and, wherever you decide to go, you'll travel in the peace, comfort and privacy of your own floating dream. Swim, snorkel, windsurf, or kayak from your private gulet. You'd like shrimps or octopus in the dinner? It's yours, along with fish on the grill, at gulet's barbecue. Share this remarkable experience of Blue Voyage with your family or close friends. There are literally hundreds of classic and modern sailing yachts based in the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, but a quality of a yacht, chartered straight off in the port, will be probably the same as last-minute lodging in a private sector in comparison with five-star hotel - quite fit for living, but unattractive. The choice of yacht is only limited to your imagination, as is to some degree, to the choice of itinerary and your budget. When you hire a yacht, you are free to make up your itinerary as you go along. Your skipper acts as a valuable advisory source and can guide you to some of the area's lesser-known treasures. Blue Cruise Gulets accommodate 4 - 6 - 8 - 12 - 16 people. Hire your gulet, according to the size of your group and special desires. In private charter crew services, passenger and vessel insurance, and harbor fees are included. It is possible to board or leave the yacht in Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Göçek, Kusadasi, or Antalya (Kemer) or nearby Greek ports. Custom cruises to special destinations. For these tours there is a selection of vessels for any budget. Cabin Charter Cabin charter is always an option if you cannot get a group of friends or family together or if this is your first sailing experience. Rota Yachting offers cruises on a shared- yacht basis for singles, couples and small groups. Swim, snorkel, windsurf, or kayak from gulet. Escape the everyday rigors of life, even cooking! Your breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be ready for you on board. Share this remarkable experience of Blue Voyage with the voyagers who share a love for the sea and adventure. Hire a cabin on the scheduled Blue Cruise and join the rest of the voyagers. Voyagers on these tours may be from a variety of countries, which only adds to the interest and enjoyment. Blue Cruise Gulets accommodate 4 - 6 - 8 - 12 - 16 people. In cabin charters full board meals, crew services, passenger and vessel insurance, and harbor fees are included. Our cabin charters have guaranteed departures from Marmaris and Bodrum and generally run from late April through to October. Departure days from Marmaris are every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Departure days from Bodrum are every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Marmaris - Mugla, Turkey

The experience of a Venus Yachting Blue Voyage can be a time to rejuvenate the spirit while you discover and experience more of the natural world. It can be a spiritual adventure as well as a worldly one. If you are a history lover, the Blue Voyage can take you to the wealth and power of bygone civilisations and ancient cultures. It can be an overwhelming experience to visit the private beach of Cleopatra, eternal fires of mount Olympus, Myria Rock Tombs, archaeological remains of ancient civilisations on land and under the sea around Fethiye. On a Blue Voyage, you can leave behind the world of routines imposed on you by modern life and responsibilities. Most of us live out our lives in large cities where the city lights dull the brightness of the stars. On a Blue Voyage, while you lay out on deck at night, you can see all the stars as you hear and feel the lapping of the water against your boat. In the rush of city life it is possible to loose perspective on the value of health, rest, and relaxation. One a Blue Voyage, everything you hear, smell, taste, see, feel, and live can excite the mind and bring peace to the soul. If your voyage coincides with the full moon you will be astounded by the it's size and magnificence lighting up the night sky. Slipping into the dark water for a night swim after a hot day can be a treat in it's own right. The peaceful quiet waters will cool you down for a restful and healthful night's sleep. Snorkeling along the brilliant coastlines in the noon day sun alongside the fish of many colours is another treat everyone can enjoy. After a week or two afloat in this scenic wonderland, old and young alike find their own treasures and gifts... and will have many opportunities to revel in our healthy and happy environment. What are kind of tours are available? We offer two basic boating experiences. For the more experienced and licensed sailor and crew who are looking for an independent adventure with a minimum of guidance we offer a variety of bare boat rentals. If you are looking for a fully guided, planned, and crewed adventure we can provide you with a traditional wooden sailing yacht which you can charter with a crew who will take care of your every need. Depending on the size of the yacht and the number of cabins available we generally book groups of between 8 and 14 people. A group of 8 people, for example, would probably take a yacht with 4 cabins. We can provide boats with as many as 10 cabins. If you are coming on your own without a group we offer single room bookings on chartered touring yachts in the location of your choice. Between both ends of the yachting opportunity spectrum we offer bare boat rentals with a skipper as your host and guide... or any combination of the above. What ever you can imagine, we will do our best to provide. Which season is the best? Between the end of July and the beginning of September is height of our main sailing season. July and August are days are long and hot. The nights are warm. June, the beginning of July, and the month of September offer the combination of warm days and cooler evenings. The water is great for swimming until the end of October. The months of May and October are excellent for trekking and fishing. How can we spend our time? There will be many opportunities for water sports and activities, sightseeing. During the day you can cruise for a few hours and sail if the wind allows. Closer to lunch and dinner the anchor is dropped in a solitary bay or inlet, alongside a small village, or find a mooring off a small island. At every stop, and there will be at least two every day depending on your preferences, there will be opportunities to swim, fish, snorkel, windsurf, sun bathe, or take a trip ashore to see the sights or to read on the sun-beds on deck. There will be lots of recreation and relaxation. Your friendly and attentive crew can consist of a captain, cook, and a couple of seamen. Their job is to make sure that your are taken care of and that your needs are well met. Cabin Charter Cabin charter is ideal for your first sailing experience and singles or small groups not wishing to charter a full yacht. Hire a cabin on the scheduled Blue Cruise and join the rest of the voyagers. Voyagers on these tours may be from a variety of countries, which only adds to the interest and enjoyment. Meal times will provide you with a good opportunity to know one another and you will find that strangers who share a love of the sea and an interest in nature and history quickly turn into friends. Cruise your cares away and start making new friends of your fellow voyagers! If you cannot get a group together so as to take your own yacht, you still have the opportunity to join one of our cabin charter voyages. Apart from private charters, we also offer voyages on a shared-yacht basis for individuals, couples and small groups. Every day, more and more people are discovering the all inclusive pleasures of a cruise vacation. More singles, families, couples, and honeymooners are sailing away on the vacations of their dreams. Here are some reasons why: 1. The price of your cruise includes all of your meals & crew service. All onboard activities, as well as snorkeling and fishing. Not to mention a relaxing voyage to some of the most exciting and exotic places in the world. 2. You will find a gulet is a floating dream, with all the things a fine hotel has to offer and more. You will meet new friends and share new memories. You can spend your days and nights as lively or leisurely as you like. 3. Avoid the worries of having to make dinner or show reservations. No packing and unpacking. A cruise allows you to lie back and be completely pampered. Enjoy fabulous cuisine and one great sight after another. Let your cares float away and your dreams become reality. Private Full Charter Indulge yourself on the private gulets of Mediterranean. With attentive crew members, you'll enjoy an unmatched level of service. See exotic bays and ports accessible only from a small, intimate gulet. Enjoy on-board luxuries like en-suite accommodations and open seating dining, gourmet cuisine by Turkish chef, and a bar stocked to your specifications with soft drinks, wine, spirits, champagne - whatever you desire. Swim, snorkel, windsurf, or kayak from your private gulet. You'd like shrimps or octopus in the dinner? It's yours, along with fish on the grill, at gulet's barbecue. Share this remarkable experience of Blue Voyage with your family or close friends. Incentive yacht tours with no fixed itinerary, generally following classical routes with modifications to accommodate individual schedules or desires. Tours Bodrum - Gökova - Bodrum / Göçek - Marmaris - Göçek / Marmaris - Datça - Marmaris / Marmaris - Kekova - Marmaris ( 2 weeks ) / Marmaris- Fethiye - Marmaris Gulet The classic Gulet, best known for its rounded aft, low profile in the water, and roomy hull, was once used by fishermen and sponge divers to transport their catch. Today, the gulet is associated primarily with charter tours. Various designs have emerged, all of which come from the classic description of the traditional Turkish Gulet. For example, the original design had a rounded aft, but as this design limits the numbers of cabins which can be built on the boat modifications have been made. The "ayna kiç" (flat backed) style of the Gullet is becoming increasingly popular as a charter vessel. As traditionally, the Gulet is handcrafted by master boat builders in Bodrum and Marmaris . The major advantage of this boat design is that it allows passengers plenty of space on deck and below. Gulet cabins are very popular as they are roomy and provide adequate space for storage. They are all about the same size and each one has either a double berth or a set of bunk-berths. Every cabin has a wardrobe for hanging clothes and a number a drawers. There is also room for storing bags and bulky items. Most cabins have their own en suite bathroom with either a shower hose attached to the basin, or a complete shower. Living areas on the Gulet consist of a salon (some have a closable aft area instead), a deck area for dining, and an aft deck area for lounging in the shade of an awning, and a forward deck area with numerous sun beds which can be shaded with a canopy when the yacht is not sailing. All yachts are equipped for safety as well as for convenience. They have VHF radios, flares, flags, first-aid kits, life jackets, extra sails, ropes, a small motor boat, and other safety equipment. For your pleasure and convenience many of the newer vessels have a stereo radio and/or cassette player, cellular phone, T.V., video player, and CD player. A yacht's galley is always well equipped and the cook takes pride in creating tempting dishes of Turkish and international origins. Upon request, we can offer you a "preference sheet" where you may list what types of food you like to eat, whether you have food allergies or any other special dietary requirements. The cook will try to meet your needs as far as possible. MORE INFO These scripts and photographs are registered under © Copyright 2006, Venus Yachting / Marmaris - Mugla - Turkey. Fethiye - Mugla, Turkey

The Blue Voyage is the surest way to get rid of all of your blues, but that is not really how the name was coined... Originated in Bodrum in the late 1950's by groups of writers, painters, and others interested in natural beauty and historical sites, the Blue Voyage started in the Gulf of Gökova and later extended to include the more distant southern shores of Turkey. Gulet A gulet is a traditional handmade wooden boat equipped with masts. The most common gulets have 4 to 10 double/triple cabins and so accommodate 8 to 16/20 passengers. Unlike cruises on large ocean liners, on a gulet you can explore the secluded and often deserted bays, coves and islands of the spectacular Turkish coastline. You will see a hidden Turkey, beautiful beyond belief, and most of it completely unseen by the average tourist! During the day there are plenty of chances to swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean or explore the natural and historical sites along the way. Have a sunbath on the sun decks or read a book in the shadow of the aft deck on the comfortable cushioned seating. Features of a gulet include an interior salon/bar area and a fully equipped galley. All cabins have en-suite There are freezers to keep drinks cold, and a CD/cassette player, snorkels & masks, fishing lines and some board games. The gulets come with facilities for outdoor and indoor dining. Also a dinghy with outboard, a ship-to-shore radio, mobile telephone and life jackets are on board. All the boats are government approved with fully qualified captains. No experience of boats is required. All you need to do is relax! Yacht Charter A crewed yacht charter is the hire of a complete yacht, with captain and crew, for a specific period of time (usually one or more weeks). The route of the cruise is subject to agreement between the contracting parties,as are the ports of embarkation and disembarkation. The charter fee does not include the cost of food but does include its preparation and service. Turkey is a treasure chest of coves, inlets, bays and beaches from which yachtsmen can choose a different and always private anchorage each night. The sailing paradise of Turkey is home to the Blue Voyage. This idyllic cruise means sailing with the winds, into coves and over the seas and becoming one with nature. It is also an experience of the history of man from the perspective of the sea rather than from the land, a journey which carries you to the private beach of Cleopatra, the eternal fires of Mt. Olympus and the myriad archaeological remains of ancient civilizations. For lovers of the active life, sailing in the clear waters provides the opportunity of swimming, fishing, skiing, surfing and diving. Fortunately modern facilities and comfort have not developed in Turkey at the expense of ancient hospitality and a slower pace of life. The pleasure of yachting in Turkey will tempt you back again and again, to explore yet another stretch of coasts and to relive the luxurious ease of life on the sea. Gulets for private cruises that suit every budget and taste; from modest, cozy family boats to exclusive 6 -16 passenger yachts and luxuriously equipped air-conditioned gullets with experienced and personable crews. You can enjoy private and incentive Mediterranean bays with your choice of itinerary, time and food along Turkey's long and spectacular coastline. This is the Blue Voyage, a yacht holiday on Gulets which is very much like a floating hotel where navigation, cooking and serving is handled by a crew of 2 or 5 and all you are required to do is rest relax. Cabin Charter A crewed cabin charter is the hire of a cabin space (single, double or triple accommodation), with captain and crew, for a specific period of time (usually a few days to one week). The route of the cruise is fixed, as are the ports of embarkation and disembarkation. The charter fee does include the cost of food, its preparation and service. There are different routes we can offer for cabin charter. Cabin charter means: you can charter one bed or one cabin or as many beds or cabins you need for your family or your friends. Other people will be together with you on the boat. Upon arrival our clients are assisted into their cabins. Prior information about whether they require double of twin bedded cabins are helpful. On cabin charter it is advisable for us to know the gender of the client - this helps with cabin allocation. The clients find their cabins fully prepared: clean bed linen, hand soap and toilet paper. It is advisable for clients to bring their own towels. Once the clients are familiar with their cabins, a small information welcome meeting is held on deck. Depending on what time the clients arrive an appropriate refreshment is served. This is our opportunity for instructions, to describe to novice sailors life on board, safety procedures and establish a good coincidence between the Captain and clients. This is also a good time for the captain to show the clients the sea charts and describe the route to them. As you know, everyday the yachts normally visit two or three bays, making the last stop the place, we stay for the night, It is necessary for the yacht to visit a larger harbor every three or four days to enable us to take on water and fresh provisions. Clients participation is always welcome. Our Captains and crew members always enjoy passing their experience on to the clients and if they wish to steer the yacht, learn the GPS navigation system or lend their hands at setting the sails, our crew can teach them. We prefer to use the sails as much as possible rather then cruising. The energetic clients may take the advantage of the windsurf or fishing equipment on board, and those who wish to do absolutely nothing are encouraged to do so. Once the boat is moored the clients can visit the archaeological ruins and explore the beautiful coastline and countryside. All our crew members are fully qualified and our yachts meet safety regulations, including yacht insurance, life jackets, emergency dinghy, fire extinguishers and alarms. Our Captains are experienced not only the tourism business, but have been at sea for many years in various capacities. Their knowledge of the sea and client coincidence is one of the most importance to us, as is their basic knowledge of a foreign language.

        Antalya, Turkey

The ultimate way to experience Turkey's intriguing coastline is by taking a "Blue Voyage", a uniquely Mediterranean style of cruising. This is a relaxing sailing trip along the Aegean and the Mediterranean coast, through impeccably clear turquoise waters, in and out of countless isolated bays and coves, visiting the harbors of small picturesque villages and weaving along a coastline rich in mythological ruins of distant times gone by. A great portion of these ancient sites are thankfully 'undiscovered', appearing almost untouched, as there are not many highways in the region. Even today, some of these coastal areas are only accessible from the sea. All the sights combined on the Blue Voyage offer a truly unforgettable experience - one where nature and history blend in a unique way. The Blue Voyage is taken aboard a "gulet" - a traditional pine wood yacht, with a pointed fore and round aft, with a double or single mast. The recommended occupancy for the cruise is between 8 to 12 people. Modern gulets are comfortably equipped with all the necessary amenities. Private Charter The more intimate way to enjoy the Blue Voyage with a pre-formed group is by reserving a private yacht charter. Having a private yacht at your own disposal allows a closer exploration of the secluded and often deserted bays and coves of the coastline. The small harbors and villages offer a good insight into coastal life, which large ships fail to replicate authentically. Supplementary land excursions can also be added to the yacht charter, both pre and/or post-Blue Voyage. As there is a huge variety in the type of yacht available, we recommend you to contact us beforehand with the specifications of your group and your schedule, so that we can present you with the optimum selection of yachts, from which to make your choice. Cabin Charter The more affordable way of taking the Blue Voyage is to rent a cabin in a pre-scheduled yacht, the duration of the voyage usually being one week. The cruises are generally operated in 20-25 meter wooden vessels (60-80 Ft), with between 5-10 classic Mediterranean style cabins. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water, a shower and a small amount of space to store luggage. The boats usually cruise by engine and the cruising time is normally limited to 2 or 3 hours per day. Overnight moorings are generally made in tiny coves about 20-30 meters close to the shore, where pine trees approach the sea. The crew consists of a captain, a cook and one or two deckhand's, all of whom are highly experienced in their work and responsibilities. Crews' cabins are separated from those of the passengers. Ensuring the continued comfort of guests is their main priority. MORE INFO These scripts and photographs are registered under © Copyright 2006, Adelphia Tours / Antalya - Turkey.
