Winterthur, Switzerland

Ok so, i havent written in awhile. Its been a long weekor so. So to start off, Monday we went on a class trip to Luzern to See the sights and answer a wonderfully entralling worksheet, note my enthusiasam. ok so First off we went to the Kappelbrucke. Its a very famous wooden bridge in Luzern. So pretty! Then we headed to the Lowendenkmal!. This was my favorite! Its a large monument for the soldiers who protected the French King. Its a beautiful stone sculpture of a lion who has been stabbed. Its up in the said of this mountain and it was just gorgeous! Then we headed to the Hofkirche. Its a gorgeous hurge church. Inside there were tons of golden....how do you say it, um alters? for certain saints. It was so beautiful. Our next stop was the verkhaus Museum. Its a museum for transporation! It had tons of antique cars and train cars and tons of cool stuff. We got to explore a bit then we headed into the planetarium. very relaxing. i think half of our group fell alseep though. haha. After that,
Winterthur, Switzerland

So another sunday adventure!

Today it was just me and my host dad and the kids.
SOOOO we drove 40 mins and took a freaking sweet old steam engine for a ride. It was super cool. This train was about 100 years old and they still run it on coal. it was awsome. It was of course rainy and cold this morning so the train ride was perfect. We then came home and relaxed for the rest of the day. Great relaxing day! =]
Winterthur, Zürich, Switzerland

SOOOOOOO sundays are fun! really, no joke. ok so

we wake up at whenever it was...like 7? and head out to Atzmannig at 9 which is this super cool slide that goes down this huge mountain. There are other rides and stuff there too, but the slide is the major attraction. On this little outing....i didnt quite expect to go on a like 4 hour hike...hah. ok so the first time we go down the slide (oh by the way, your on these little like roller cart things) there are these realllllllly slow people in front of us, so we have to slow down and stop a few times...no fun. So after that we take the lift allllllll the way to the top of the mountain and start this hike. holy crap. we went along the top of the humongous mountain with a bunch of steep up hill for a long time.... then we found a place to make a fire, cooked some sausages and had lunch. haha i accidently stepped on the container containing the veggies and dip and they all went flying. got some dip on my pants.....ANY way. Then we start the trek down which again is reallllly freaking steep downwards. And if my muscles werent sore enough from dance! well i will be hurting tomorrow! This whole trek was beautiful, dont get me wrong. Just painful. About 25 mins from the parking lot, we stop at this resturant that litterally popped out of nowhere, and its filled with people!. So we all ordered some delicious ice cream. Then got on our way to the car. pretty sweet man......oh and another thing! i dont think i have ever seen that many cows! it sounded like a bell shop or somthing....so many cow bells haha ok. look at the next entry about my first european concert!
Biel, Bern, Switzerland

Hallo....sorry to keep you waiting for an update.

well i am going to start from the beginning and my first week in Switzerland.

The day after i arrived, i went with my host family to their vacation home on Lake Bienne. Let me say...beautiful. Really. Ok so I was at this home from Friday August 8th to Sunday August 17th. Long vaca but i liked getting to relax right off the bat. I was having some homesickness and it was hard not being able to meet friends that first week, but it was still FUN!!! We went out on the lake quite often on the boat and such. Watched the adults wakeboard and swam with the kids.Didint have the courage to wake board my self....=[ oh well. So we were there, Nicole, Beat, Sebastian and me, along with Nicole's sister Catherine and her husband Fred. Along with them were their two kids Moriz and Paula. Adorable those two. The girls Laura and Alexandra joined us on Monday after taking a summer trip to Romania with their grandparents.

One of the days, they told me we were going to go take a walk....ok a walk. I can handle that. Ha! ok we rode our bikes to the boat dock area. Missed the first boat so took another to th other side of the lake. Then walked about half an hour to the train station through this small town that was literally empty....i think i might have seen maybe 2 people. haha Ok so took the train a couple of minuets then very quickly jumped off and got on to this awsome little train that took us up on to the mountain...very cool.

SOOOOO finally we start our walk...aka a two hour downhill hike through a canyon with tones of trees and waterfalls...and i was just wearing my converse. Wont make that mistake again!

It was an amazing walk...hmph i mean excursion.

Nothing else too exciting in Bienne. Look on for updates in Winterthur
Any who. about halfway to the dock, Hannah from Washington, goes home sick....we all think some of the South American students slipped somthing in her drink. haha...anyway, then we get 3/4 of the way to the dock, and the two canadian girls Jerrie and Sarah go home, beacuse they have a meeting at 5 with thier school. ok So who is left...Me, Katie, Jane and oh drat...i can never remember her name. Lets call her Heather. haha ok so we took an 1.5 hour boat trip around parts of Lake Zurich. It was free because we have our GA passes. and it was just fun! We relaxed by the side at a table and jsut talked. very fun. All the while trying to avoid the like 7 smokers surrounding us, its hard to causually cover your nose/mouth. haha ok so here are some pictures of the trip. really fun. cant wait to go again. there were a couple of cool looking swimming sopts with slides and all!

bis bald!
This waterfall is the largest in Europe. It was really fun! We first took a walk down to the base on this dock to see the water fall. Then we took a small boat to the other side to get on another boat to go up close to the fall. Really cool and really wet! After that little adventure. we took about and 1.5 hour walk down the rhein river to the train station again. At one spot on the river is this amazing schwimmen bade. its awsome. it was a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by greeen grass and fountains. there was also a diving board into the river. we got ice cream there and headed to the train. cant wait to go back and go swimming! =]
