Well we got soaked today here in Rome. But it was all worth it. We went back to the Pantheon to see it in the rain and it was incredible. I took the video camera to get some good video of Rome at night and wound up getting what I hope is some great video of the rain in the Pantheon. That place is incredible.
We went to lunch just off Corso Vittorio Emanuelle III to a place called Insalata Ricca (Which means "Rich Salads"). Vic has been craving salad and this is supposed to be the best salads in Rome. And they did not disappoint. Vickie Loved it !! We then walked to the ancient ruins, this time armed with the video camera. We got some great footage.Then for our last dinner in Roma we went to Isidoro, in the ancient Rome area just off Via Di San Giovanni In Laterano in the San Clemente Piazza. We were told they had the best pasta in Rome and again we were amazed !! Vivkie had the Penne with Walnut sauce and I had "Special" pasta with bacon and hot tomatos. All I can say is I have never tasted pasta like that...Incredible. The service was great and topped off with a hand made chocolate mousse with a chocolate liquor drizzle....Pound after pound has been added to my belly...Add the bottle of Santa Christina for me and a bottle of Pinot Grigio for Vic and the night was complete. The only proble was...the weather. We ran to the metro an got soaked....On the other end when we got off the metro it was raining even harder. We trotted as fast as Rome will let you to our hotel, but by the time we got there we were soaked and sober !!!! What a waste of good vinno !!!
Tomorrow we head for home. 11 hours on 2 flights.... I consider the rain is just Rome crying that we are leaving.
We have had a blast here in Italia, and have met soooo many great people. I can't say enough about Silvio, Morizzio and Deborah. And to all the people we met on the tour, we will miss you all. We have made some great friends from all over the world.
Tomorrow we say arividarci to Rome and Italia....Sadly....But we look forward to coming home to all our loved ones !!!

Well here we are again back in Roma for our final days. The trip has gone by soooo fast. I finally was able to upload some pics so go back amd look over the previous posts to see some pics. We got caught in a thunderstorm tonight and had to buy an umbrella from a gypsy...needless to say the brelly didn't last long and we got soaked running for the Metro. Had another great dinner in Rome tonight. Tomorrow were heading back to the Pantheon to get some video. Its such a beautiful ancient ruin. Pictures just don't do it justice.
We really miss the small things... english tv for instance. Right now Vickie is sitting on our couch watching Italian TV while I update the BLOG....To funny.
Well Cio for tonight and I will be back tomorrow with another update !!!

Well its our final night here in the jewel of Italia. It has been just perfect. We had lunch today at a Ristorante over looking the bay of Napolia. Crystal clear water, cliffs all around and incredible Spagehtti Carbonara. Vickie had Gnnochi (I know the spelling is wrong !!!) and loved it . And of course vinno !!! W have seen so much her its all melting into one. The shops in Sorrento and are are crazy. The roads are so narrow and the scooters and cars are whipping around loke crazy !! Some of the side walks are only 2' wide IF there are sidewalks. On the side streets there are no sidewalks and the 'street' is only wide enough for a smart car. There are tons of those cars here as well as other cars that are even smaller than those. But the drivers are positively crazy !!! And the scooter/bikes are even crazier. They whip around on the sidewalks and weaving in and out of traffic. It a wonder they arent killed !! I will never complain about Victoria drivers again. There are no lines on the roads here, its pretty much do as ya want.
Anyway, tonight were having a special GALA dinner with music here at the hotel. Ive eaten sooooo much good food here its just incredible !! Ive probably put on 10lbs. But wow, its good eating !!! Pizza, Pasta, last night I had Quail that was out of this world.
Well I best go, I have to get ready for dinner !!! My next entry will be from Rome again tomorrow !!!

Well here we are again,
Last night was a great nigght, we met people from all over the world and darnk some Prosecco and Vinno rosso and a few Martini's with all of them !! 2 girls from Pennsylvania a couple from Ireland and England and some people from Scottland. It was a fun night. Were just heading out for anothe walk in this beautiful area. I hope all is well at home and we are looking forward to seeing you all soon !!

Good Day ALL....
OK, so we were supposed to stay at the Grand Paradiso, however they had a mix up and we are now at the Majestic Palace. It is an incredible place surrounded by Orange and Lemon groves. We have a great room over looking all the groves, the city and Naples with Vesuvius in the background over the Tryhreian Sea. We have just had breakfeast and are about to head out. Today we are thinking about the Amalfi coast. There is a bus that heads up there. Tommow may be Pompei...Or who knows we may just decide to walk around this area, it is simply gorgeous !! The weather here is very nice. We sat on our huge balcony lat night until 1 am. At midnight there were fireworks right in front of us....We really could not have timed this trip any better.
Sorry for not being able to post pics but I still can not get my laptop on the net. They have WiFi here but its not working so Im using the hotels computer.

Well were finally in Sorrento !!!! Its 11pm and we just finished dinner...Long ride here from Motecatini but were here !! Its a beautiful place and they upgraded our hotel...It incredible.I will let ya all know more tomorrow...First I need wine...wine..and sleep !!! Please let us know how things are back home !!!

Montecatini Terme, Tuscany, Italy

OK....Now I can die !!!! We went to the villa tonight for a true Tusacan dinner !! What a night, It was just something out of a movie. Incredible food, incredible place. All the food and wine that they served was made and grown right on the villa. We had Risotto (3 kinds), ravioli in walnut suace, tuscan chicken, olive oil spuds, italian beefsteak,brushetta...and on and on and on...There is now way I will fit into my Tux when I get home !! Then there was dancing to live Italian music and more vino !!! It was a dream night for both of us. The moon shinning bright over the palm trees by the vinyard...I really can not do it justice with words....I took about 200 pictures and bought 2 bottles of wine. Im hoping to bring it home but Im not sure If thjat will happen !!!
I will update again tomorrow !!!

Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

We went to Lucca and Vinci today !! Lucca is a wild town we have some incredible pics and video. Then we were off to the town of Vinci. The birthplace of Leonardo DaVinci. There is the Leanardo Museo there. It is right in the heart of the Tuscany vallyes. Olive groves and Vineyards all over the hills. Its a sight to see.
Tonight is our last night here in Montecatini, tomoroww we leave early in the morning for Sorrento. I may not be able to update the BLOG tomorrow but I will try. Don't forget to sign the guestbook on the BLOG so we know how you all are back home !!!
The weather here has been incredible. This is just a goegeous part of Italy.

Florence, Tuscany, Italy

Well hello again all !!We are in Florence today !! Vic's out shoppping in the leather shops...I may be broke very soon...send MONEY !!! HAHAHA....Florence is very cool....20 million visitirs a year !!! Can you believe that !! Tonight we go for dinner to a Tuscan Villa. It should be good. Last night we had a great time in Montecatini. Didn't get home until 130 this morning and we had to be up at 6 for the trip here to Florence. I will update again soon as Im out of internet time. And I f I don't get to Vic she will spend all the money !!!
I will post pics as soon as I can. Right now Im just hitting any Internet cafe as we go along. Ive taken almost 1000 pictures and well over an hour of video and were only half way through the trip !!

Sorry for the long dely !! We had no internet inRome at the hotel, and we were way too busy to find an internet cafe !! ROME !!!! WOW what can I say....We were totaly blown away. I took over 400 pictuers in one day. It worked out great as we were at the Vatican on Sunday and we were there for the Popes blessing !!! Do ya believe it !! I got pictures of le POPE !!!
After that we ditched our tour group and went off on our wn in Rome. And am I glad we did. We went scullking through all the little side streets and got horribly lost....and stumbled upon a little cafe here they had the Dallas-Detriot hockey game on....Guess where we stopped !!!! HAHAHAHA...Watched the last period and had acouple of Martini's. We then kept on our lost way and came upon Piazza De Norvona...The we found the Pantheon...This was an incredible find. While we were there we joined a free tour from a young American fellow who was really good. We then had lunch in the piazza right beside the Pantheon !!! What a rush !! After lunch (Which by this time was about 6pm) we meet up with him agin at a different spot an he took us on a 2 1/2 hour walking tour of some great spots in Rome (Trevi fountain, Spanish steps...and much more...) By the time we were done it was 10pm and we were MILES away from our hotel....LOST again in ROME !! So we did what any Canadian would do...we went to the closest drinking establishment !! A couple of vinnos later and we were ready to go....We decided to walk back to the hotel...Even though we didn't have a clue as to where we were going !! We made it about 1 block and stopped at a McDonalds !!! HAHAHA...Too funny....After that we walked for 2 hours in the general direction of our hotle along the Tiber river. We then called a taxi to get us the rest of the way. We did all ight as the cab only cost us 15.00.
The next day we were off to Pisa...Its a long drive, about 4 hours with a couple of stops along the way. Its a beautiful country. Alway something to see. Pisa was very cool. After Pisa were reached our next stop. Motecatini. There wer had a really nice dinner and some wine and a well needed sleep. It is now noon and were are still here in the Tuscany valley in Motecatini. Im in an internet cafe right now while Vickie looks in the shops. This is a very cool little town. About the size of Nanaimo but really noce. Typically Italian.
Well thats it for now. Were are ere until Friday. Tomorrow were go to Florence for the day and we are going to a Villa tomorrow night for dinner. Looking forward to that. I will try to keep posting as this cafe is just a block away from our hotel.
