Hoi An, Vietnam

I have decided to stay. After thinking about it a long time, decided to finish the trip in memory of my cousin. Thank you to ALL who sent me messages of support and love - it really made a difference and I don't feel that alone eventhough I am miles away. Thank you all who offered to gather miles and money to get me back - that was very sweet of you. Life is so fickle. Really...and because it kind of hit me in a hard way to understand how important my family and my friends are to me...I am, from now on, going to try to never complain about stupidities in life :) I shall try to live to the fullest - every minute. I will love, not hate. I will tell my mom, my dad, my brother, sister and sister in law, my nephew, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends how much I love them much more often. Okay, i am getting really sentimental so I shall stop :)

So...this little town looks like a Vietnamese version of San Miguel de Allende - but with way less gringos and no cars :) I think it might be my favorite spot of the entire trip. I rented a motorcycle and went to China Beach - the waves were amazing! and oh my god, the food too! Problem is: it got flooded! so I couldnt go back in a bus...I had to take the train. Listen...theres disgusting stuff and then there's the trains in Vietnam! Lets just say Jenny and Ray would have rather biked all the way back to Hanoi :) 19 hours later - yes, 19 - I got to hanoi. I met some Brits on the train and they had some weird rice liquor...that was a great sleeping pill.

Well...going back to Hong Kong tomorrow and seeing Jenny (yey!) and then back to SF the 6th. Planning on going to mexico right after - friday or so.

Missed you all and see you soon.
Hong Kong, China

Hi F&F,

So...everything is massive here! - well, almost :)

The airport is huge, buildings are huge, masses/crowds are huge, lights on the street....huge. Except for...yep. Got it right. MY HOTEL ROOM. What was I expecting for $50/night, right? Its easily worse than any hotel I've stayed in mexico...honestly...even the ones in the middle of Michoacan. Those were actually rather nice. Even the one in Chihuahua city when I was in high school (almost a brothel) was nicer. But, thats exactly what I wanted...adventure :) So, got in late - as usual with all planes I take - got in the shower...literally on top of the WC (not kidding) and I am out in a subway station where this thingy is free :)

Well...going out to check out the nightlife around mid levels - this city is impressive.

Lots of love...

ANIMO FLACA!!!
