It now houses a history of the Cochin royal family up to its end in 1964, palanquins, royal wear and, most notably, exquisite vegetable-dye murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. ... Krysia had read about the guide book and buy some black pepper for 700 rupees a kilo. We had seen a variety of prices the most expensive being 1500 per kilo!
