Continue the oppressive heat and the strong sun that forces me to walk early in the morning and evening at the beach that I keep clean and then I swim in the pool to cool or go to town here near to drink a frozen fruit skake or buy mango and pineapple. Lately I've tied a lot with Stefanie, a nice forty German from Frankfurt I met just arrived, then she made a detour in Cambodia near here and now back until next Tuesday when she returns to Bangkok for her flight back ...

... of lonely beach. First we showed them around a bit as there's quite a lot to see and we went to see Long the tattoo artist who did my tattoo last year. Claude had told us he wanted to recover the old tattoo he had on his back and maybe Maria wanted one. He told us it was possible but had to make an appointment the following days. Than we went for lunch at a place we had been before with life music and coffee at an other place. Than we went back as tomorrow morning we had to get up at 7 ...

... look at!! Probably the last ones though I promise!! The reclining Buddha (the Buddha for Tuesday) is across the road from the palace and is, quite frankly, mammoth. He's housed in a temple and must measure 50m long by about 10m high. Very gold and his feet are also huge! He is quite a sight as you can see from the pictures. So now we are on the way to have some beach time before coming home. We'll head back to Bangkok for a couple of nights before our flight home on Friday night. See you all soon ...

... with turquoise waters, backed by palm trees and that's Koh Kood. It's also fairly undiscovered so the tourist infrastructure is basic (apart from some very fancy honeymoon style resorts which were obviously out of our price range!). We'd booked our accommodation in advance of arriving on the island as most of the resorts cater to package tourists so the number of backpacker options are fairly limited. Our bungalow was situated a 5 minute walk from the beach along ...

Another long trip via bus back to Bangkok. When we arrived early in the morning Kate and I decided to keep going and catch a mini van bus to Koh Chang rather than waste another day in Bangkok. We soon found the right bus station and headed for some beach time. A horrible trip as we were both tired, my ribs were bloody painful and once again the air con was set on minus freezing. After a couple of stops and changing bus for some unknown reason we ...
