Good Value for Disney Travellers
As a Florida native, I would consider this place the best value hands down for a winter trip to Disney. The $89 rate for a mini-suite can't be beat, especially since the living room is actually separated from the bedroom by a hallway and a bathroom. There were plenty of scheduled activities if you're into that kind of thing, but my son is too young for all that so we just chilled in the pools. Best feature of all is the indoor heated pool next to the cafe -- outdoor heated pools just won't work when the temperature dips below 60F, and that's all you can find at most Orlando hotels. Only downside for us was that it's not at all close to Universal Studios, and we had to drive through Disney traffic to get there. Otherwise, well worth the money!
Avoid this place
We were told that the accomodations were on par with Embassy Suites or Marriott Resorts. Nothing could be further from the truth. The mold and mildew odor in the suite was over-powering. By the looks of the carpet and furniture, nothing has been updated in 20 years. The matresses in the sleeper sofas were stained and full of holes. I should add that when we complained, the staff replaced the matresses promptly. The web site promotes amenities such as balconies, patios, sailing, and rowboats. However, these do not exist. In short, this place ruined our vacation.
Wonderful and relaxing
We've been here twice now, as the guests of timeshare owners here who have a double lock out room and eight of us stayed there comfortably.
The rooms were spacious and it was great being able to enjoy meals together without going out every evening. Both of the pools were close to our room so we had our choice. The kids enjoyed fun resort sponsored activities (my niece won lots of free ice cream sandwiches) and the staff were very supportive. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there is most often plenty of room on the pool deck to suntan. It was also only 5 minutes to Disney and most other attractions so we had little excuse for not going three days in a row. All in all, a great experience (especially since our owner friend paid much less than the going rate)!
I love this Place!!
This place is wonderful. We drove 11 and a half hours to get to Orlando. I was filled with anticipation the whole time. Everything was going through my mind especially hoping that I did the right thing by choosing this resort. I read reviews from this very site. Some were excellent. However, there were atleast 2 bad reviews. This made me sort of hesitant. But I had already paid the money. When we arrived, the staff was fast and friendly. We made it to our villa and was blown away. It was clean, well maintained, roomy and beautiful. All of my worries had been put to rest. The kitchen was very spacious with everything that we needed at hand - they even had some appliances and utensils that I didn't have at home. The kids had their own bedroom upstairs with ours. This was great. It was like staying in an apartment for a week. The grounds were well maintained. There was always (I mean always) a staff member around on the grounds somewhere that made sure that your stay was pleasant. This was unbelievable. Everytime that we stepped outside of our villa, there was an employee with a smile working away. The location is perfect. It is out of the way in a quiet neighnborhood, yet all of the restaurants or shops that you want were walking distance.
When we arrived, there was only one probelm - our air wasn't working.
We called the CARE line, our air was fixed within 20 minutes or so.
When I come back to Orlando, I will definitely be staying at Celebrity Resorts!!
Anywhere but here
I recommend hightailing it out of there, which is exactly wht I had to
do and during the holiday week no less.
The 1 br suite was tiny, it was old and Bathroom was falling apart,The Furniture looked to be 20 years old and the decor older yet.
I tried to get moved to a different room but we were late checking in and they had nothing else available and couldn;t promise anything for the next couple of days. When I told them I was leaving they threatened that I would have to pay for whole week since i checked in luckily I had booked thru Orbitz and I called them(@2:00 AM)
and they got the room cancelled.I ended up paying more At Staybridge
Suites but it was well worth it!
Fantastic First Family Vacation
Planning this vacation was nerve racking because it was the first one and i wanted everything to be perfect. I found very little information on this facility. We stayed in the division called Clarion Suites Oaks at Resort World. All I can say is Fantastic!!! From check in to check out. We were on a budget and i made sure that we didnt incur any add'l charges ie: the phone, maid service, in room delivery. We had a 2bedroom that slps 6 so clean and huge. We had more than enough room This place was close to several restaurants, shopping outlets, and was 4 mi to disney. There is a chain supermarket about 3mi Publix. So we lightly stocked our fridge. We cooked our own breakfast daily and cooked our own dinner about 4 of the nights. The kitchen was stocked w/ great appliances and a washer / dryer in room too. they have events like bingo, pool parties etc. daily. We did 4 disney parks, seaworld, and city walk. It was nice to come back every night and hang out by the pool. Concierge was very helpful. Thanks to another user review i avoided the security photo (where they try to sell u a timeshare) We are anxiously awaiting nov. 2004 when we can return. this place was an a+ in our eyes.
Don't Waste Your Money
We were dissatisfied so we switched from one minisuite to another after one night. Neither one had a kitchenette as they claimed. All it had was a microwave and fridge, and no counter space and no desk or table.
This place was weird- The minisuite room seems like it used to be the second and third bedroom of a 3 bedroom condo. There's just a thin door leading to the next room, and you can hear (and smell) everything happening in the neighbor's room. The place needs to be renovated, because it looks like nothing has changed since the 80's. The rooms were somewhat clean, but maids never come until you checkout, unless you pay an extra fee. Also, our first room was full of tiny ants. The jetted tub was the only decent thing, but in our first room, a lot of mold came out when we turned the jets on, and it was very loud. Finding our room was very difficult, because the place is like a big apartment complex, and there's no numbers on the buildings, and no signs.
Best Value Ever
We just returned from an eight day vacation. During this time we stayed at Clarion Suites Resort World. We expected a nice place based on the reviews we read. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the housekeeping services. This resort was clean and well maintained. The suites were very large and stocked with utensils, pots and pans and just about anything you might need. The location was very convenient to the WDW resort and other attractions. Overall a very good/quiet family oriented place. The only negatives were the timeshare sales scheme.
Beware if you get a call claiming that you are needed for a security photo, it's a simple bait and switch so I would advise you decline.
Exceptionally clean and homely
I judged where I was staying based on one good review and pictures shown, and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. The location is great. The place is exceptionally clean and all utensils required for cooking is at hand. They leave detergents, coffee packs, soap for washing at hand to give you a start. I, being a very picky person had no complaints on this hotel. If you are not into cooking, Ponderosa (all you can eat buffet) and other eating facilities are in close proximity to the location, about a couple minutes away. I would definited go there again.
We traveled from Maine and had the worst drive of our life. Arriving at the suites was a nice break. We got there and was welcomed by a friendly staff and then was brought to a buffet, where we ended up winning 2 prizes. Anytime we needed a staff member they were right there to help us. It was nice to come back from the attractions and be able to go swimming for as long as you want. the pool never closed unless for cleaning. Being in the suite made you feel like you were in an apartment. My children loved it they liked that they had there own room and not a pull out couch and I liked that I could cook right there in my room, put a load of laundry in the washer and dryer and go to bed. Wake up in the morning, go to a complemetary breakfast and be off. I rate this hotel as EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, Mecum Kissimmee - one of the defining moments in any car oriented man's life experiences. 3000 classic, veteran, vintage, resto-mod and just plain crazy vehicles up for sale!
We spent this day split into various groups. First thing in the morning, Joe and Rob headed off to the airport to pick up the rental cars that we will need to travel to Vero Beach. Carey and I and all of the kids headed to the Contemporary Resort for breakfast at Chef Mickeys with the characters. The food was outrageously good and, even though they are not young children, everyone enjoyed seeing the characters. After breakfast, kids headed over to the Magic Kingdom to use the fast pass ...
... time but never got one.
The meal was sensational. The steak with risotto and the maple creme brulee were to die for.
Our meal was interrupted by the launch of EPCOT's IllumiNations -- the laser and fireworks show from the middle of the lake. We didn't want to miss it, so the staff excused us while we went out and viewed, and then returned for dessert and coffee. They gave us all champagne in honor of the birthday girl.
We slipped out ...
... and American. The largest line was in front of the sushi bar, but most of the things I tried were good. Although it looked great, I skipped the lobster mac n cheese at the "American" table, since we had eaten mac n cheese at 3 of the past 4 dinners we had eaten and you have to know when to say when. I had to step away from the social to deal with some work matters, so at 9:30 ...
... br> I then took one for the team programming the Tom Tom to an Orlando bike shop. Carl was under the impression that we were about to see another Christmas shop so you could imagine the surprise on his face while I sat and he drooled over all the top end bikes. We were both shocked by how cheap they are. Carl got himself a new watch and we were off again.
