The day started with a beautiful sunrise at 6.30am. We were set for a walk through the man-made forest - a daily ritual of my host dad and another host dad. Sam, Liesl & I set off into an amazing setting complete with running rivers and tall pine trees and even a squirrel, which we spotted within the first 5 mins of our journey. The pictures tell a story but being there was the real experience! After an 1.5hrs we retuned home to be greeted by another beautiful Turkish ...

Todays plan is to observe the docks when the istanbul ferry would depart and see if it really does go from here. And to go to the beach, swim and read. This seems a fairly conservative place so it will be interesting to see how the do beach. I reckon that ...

A unusual port and interesting day.

... of marble four metres long, two metres wide and two metres high. This is not a retail operation. I saw a ship heel two feet when loading one of these blocks. It has a side effect too; this place has polished marble for the breakwaters and promenade where other towns have concrete. The town is in a very pretty position inside a bay so its an interesting place. There is also a beach in an adjacent bay which is rather good; sadly I have roast bif chest despite t he suncream. So ...
