Anyway, I was finally in the Philippines! In the taxi to the hostel I noticed how small and tightly packed the shops and houses were. It was like a mixture of shanty towns and concrete structures and every available inch of space was being lived in. I also noticed that all the ...

What we did instead was have a couple of days on the white beach which is absolutely terrible. They have disco music there, it is not clean and at the same time karaoke. We just wanted to leave when we got there. The water was clean though and the Sand was white. We ended up at a neighboring resort and it was kind of nice.

Still, I'll be better equipped in any boat related emergencies now!

battled our way out to sea against some very rough waves, not feeling
like we were getting anywhere. As we left the shore the waves were
so strong they knocked me off my feet onto my bum on the steps. I was
very grateful for the geeky life jacket that I'd decided to wear.
