But. Created by connecting two brownstones after WWI by General Pershing for military personnel. This hotel is conveniently located in midtown Manhattan and the nightly cost is affordable. We joked that we didn't think the hotel had been renovated since WWI. The bathroom is down the hall, the shower room is across another hall in the other building. No private bathrooms. The bedroom was very tiny with a lovely "view" of the building across the alley. No need to open the curtains because there was nothing to look at. The hotel wasn't great, but we could walk everywhere -- including The Today Show! The hotel up the block, which didn't look fancy from the outside, had hotel rooms starting at $350 a night. Ours was just over $100. For the price and the location it was OK.

We grab a quick pub lunch and enjoy sitting down from our 40 min walk across the bridge (we took it slow and were stopping to take lots of pics). Then next door was a fancy schmancy chocolate shop. We felt like a little something sweet after lunch so Hinesh gets an ounce of dark chocolate with nuts and I get a giant cookie. It was sooo good but I ...

So far there is no limit to what this group can do. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. :)
... to JFK took an hour and a half, shall we? And getting from there to Connecticut two and a half hours.
I called one of the keen 318 Poly engine guys who lives in Connecticut and dropped in to see him before the night was out. We had a good chat... but that's all for my car stuff blog.
Sorry it's been somewhat truncated, the next day will be too, but after that we're back to the full story.
An earlyish start to try and limit the time spent in queues and while we missed out on crown tickets we received tickets for the Statue pedestal, something that was very difficult to explain to Katie. We lined up for yet another mandatory security and bag check but we were on our way in a reasonable amount of time and took up our place on the top deck of the Lady Liberty for a short ride to Liberty Island with clear views back across the city. ...
