I now headed to Nubra Valley, a far flung corner of Ladakh which took me within 5km of the Pakistan border.

We woke up early to catch our ride over Kardung-La and into Nubra Valley. Our guesthouse featured a pleasant, unfinished balcony that faced east. The intensity of the sun at Leh's altitude banished even the cold morning air, so we had a breakfast of muesli while we watched the back alleys of the town come alive.
