Today I woke up because my body decided it was no longer tired. This is very rare. After I had a shower, a cooked breakfast, a coffee, washed clothes (thanks to Tracy), loud music, and a game on a Nintedo wii. To put this in perspective, the previous morning I was chased by a tractor and ran over a perfectly flat dog. We felt like kings.
We then spent a majority of the day relaxing and drinking the beer Tracy gave us and decided to cook her dinner as ...
Air raid sound. Thats how we woke up this time. Although, no air raid, just a noise a near by factory makes every now and then. SO, considering I was up early thought I would go for a run and I ended up getting chased by a massive tractor and saw a flat dog. Nevertheless this would be a good and, hopefully, normal day because we had planned to arive in Vera where we would meet Tracy (one of my ...
Vera, Andalusia, Spain chris_jones01... cycling yet. We were supposed to nail 100 miles to make it to Tracy's but after a full day of effort we only managed 75. Anyway, during this epic uphill struggle we encountered a petrol station in the middle of no where. Here they had a hose pipe where we could riskily fill our water bottles. It was at this point i decided to add the quote of the day section.

... to a grocery store Consum and they had everything you could ever want to buy and more. Then we headed for the beach in Palomares Quita Pellejos. The sand was dark but the water was blue and it wasnt as crowded as Garrucha or Mojacar. The best beach was Mojacar white sand and blue blue water and very warm. There is a boulevard that runs along all of these beaches and it is lined with restaurants and souvenir ...
Palomares,Vera, Garrucha, MoJacar, Andalusia, Spain must_travelI had to wean myseft away from the area, and the next day just drove a bit up the coast, past more un(der)-developed beaches at Escullos and El Playazo, and ended up staying in Las Negras, another fishing village which is sleepy by the water-front but with massive construction going on behind it.
Las Negras, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruce... at €3 or €4 a jar; English bacon (yes, the real stuff with all that white guck!) at €3 for a packet of three rashers. We thought it ridiculous to see a packet of six mince pies in one supermarket at €6, till we saw them in another supermarket at €10. As a result there are a number of shops springing up aimed at the British market. We have seen WH Smiff, Quiksafe, Spainsbury's ...
Garrucha, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands oldagetraveller... is Brazilian and divorced from Dad (who is half French and half Dutch), I'm English (and regularly confused) whilst the kids normally travel on a French passport... OK!... this time they're travelling on their Brazillian passports (you know, just to keep things simple). Hence having to go to the Brazillian consulate to certify everything in Madrid.... This has been going on for the last 2 weeks. Firstly due to Spanish beurocracy being what it is, and secondly ...
Arboleas, Spain capnconway... though, we should also tell you about a gigantic beach party we went to, for the St.Jean Baptiste day, Spanish style, which meant lots of people of all ages on the beach late at night listening to everything from Cuban music, to 90s mtzzee-mtzee dance music, to 70´s rock, all the while drinking beer and red wine eating free fried sardines, smoking copious amounts of cigarettes (and other substances) and lighting gigantic bonfires. All in all, quite a party!
Mojacar, Spain and Canary Islands taviniJetted back to London from Mumbai and then on to Spain for Tania and Ivan's wedding. Was nice to get back to the land of sit down toilets again. Had a great week eating, drinking and being merry. Nice to be able to leave my bag in one place for the week and chill out by the pool or beach each day as well. The wedding itself went off without a hitch. Lovely chapel, beautiful reception and plenety of food and drink. Tania and Ivan are off to the states for the honeymoon...enjoy!
Mojacar, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands briancrooke... on Tuesday (a 2.5 hour flight from Barca)!!! THAT will be a blast, I am sure of it. I am traveling with four other girls. We've put way too much money into the traveling part, but it is sure to be fun - they're really great people. I have no more new pictures unless you want some of me blowing my nose and making tea for myself. I went to a farmacia here and bought cough syrup for a dry cough. I took that for a day before the cough was no longer dry and I ...
