Well our wedding went off without a hitch... actually, just one hitch ;) It was truly awesome and we loved every minute of it! Can't believe it's over, but luckily we had no time to dwell on it since we hopped on a plane the next afternoon for our Californian honeymoon!

We had breakfast in the hotel and called for an update on the car. At 9:30 I was picked up by a mechanic and taken to the shop to square up the bill. We asked that they also do a scheduled oil change for Gordon, and when they were done I brought the car back to pack and get on the road headed for California.

... for breakfast. I have not had my breakfast delivered to me before, it was quite exciting.
After breakfast we got ready and hopped on the complimentary bus our hotel has to take the long five-minute drive to Universal Studios (if we had known it was quite so close we would have walked). Upon arrive to the park we were surprised to see that there is almost an entire outdoor mall before the entrance. The mall is called Universal City Walk. There are a variety of ...
... indoors, so we head to the Griffith Observatory instead. Unlike the movies, where people just seem to get up there, it involves a drive through suburbia (with speed bumps), and a small windy road in bushland, as well as heading right through the hill itself. Parking seems to be a problem, but after a couple of loops, we are fortunate enough to spot someone leaving, and park relatively close by.
Once again we are treated to a good view ...
... Johnny Cash, Ray Charles and James Brown numbers.
About 1.30am we decided to call it a day as the bar maid said everyone had to be out by 2am. We walked home with a bottle of bud down the street to our house which was only two blocks away. We learnt later that drinking on the street was pretty illegal so it’s a good job we didn’t get caught. We also passed a box of golf balls on the way home, which for some reason excited O’Malley.

PROS: Location, price, quiet building, beautiful studio suite with great finishes, fantastic showers and Ikea appointments.
CONS: No on-site staff or amenities, complicated after-hours check in rituals.
