    ... Denver and Golden. We had planned to visit Denver anyway and now we had the perfect opportunity to explore the city and surrounding areas. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Lakewood, where a new light rail system gave us easy access to attractions in downtown Denver. The loaner car made it easy to explore Golden and run errands.

    Today we visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary - a non-profit organization that rescues and provides a permanent home for wild animals that have been abused, abandoned, displaced or neglected. Currently they have over 290 animals (tigers, lions, wolves, bears and a variety of other smaller carnivores)! It was a really neat experience, very different from visiting a zoo.
