... main beach is owned by a major hotel chain although is accessible.

Poverty is very definantly on the other side of the old railway tracks, where again a big shanty town has sprung up. I did notice however a number of kids hanging around as if waiting for a train, odd as passenger services stopped a number of years ago. However as we arrived an engine and some carriages came into view and were being shunted ...

Sihanoukville, Khétt Kâmpôt, Cambodia woodsy79... I did however buy a sarong and had my legs done using the cotton technique but it was so painful I could only have part of them done. We lay in the sun reading our books but it was so hot by lunchtime we had, had enough and went in the shade for some lunch and had a manicure Cambodian style for ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia alyson.morganWe traveled from Kampot to Sihanoukville in a minibus – there were no other passengers and apart from a couple of bumpy unpaved sections of the road the journey was smooth and fast – it took less than 2 hours. We took a tuk-tuk down a very bumpy track to Serendipity Beach and trekked with our backpacks along the sand to Cloud 9 Bungalows.

We were in Bungalow number 5 – up a lot ...

Sihanoukville, Cambodia spirityufo... body had an effervescent glow around it. the only time i had every encountered these tiny creatures that light up when disturbed before was on a school trip in university to a marine station on Vancouver island; a friend and i were in a rowboat, and were awed by the light our paddles and swirling hands made in the water. but definitely, swimming in it is another league, and we both felt blessed to have had this experience. and the next day, it was off to paradise (we hoped...)
Sihanoukville, Cambodia moonrise... her that she would fit in one hand and could climb up my clothes on the hanger and sleep on the shoulder without tipping the hanger She would beg for salmon, but only eat a tiny bit She would cuddle up right next to Bill beside his ribs in bed at night She cost us a small fortune in vet bills for eating elastics and getting kidney infections, but she was worth every penny We are going to miss her very much!
Sihanoukville, Cambodia theresabill... Today I went diving. Not the best sites though there are three companies so the other may have somewhere better. We took a 2 hour boat ride to a great little island where you can stay in shared accommodation. The first dive was a "mud dive" no coral. I find those a little boring. We saw seahorses, crabs, shrimps ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia conrad.bear... back down to the beach for the usual but it was overcast and we decided to book bus tickets to Ko Chang, Thailand the next day. Luckily we made it back to the room before the downpour started. It eventually stopped and we headed to a beach bar to meet Jo and Steve for last night drinks. After dinner we ended up in Utopia agian for more silly drinks, where we found a litter of puppies and adopted the runt of the pack. The evening again ended on the beach in the early hours.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia chris~laura... back..... Fortunately our guide took us to his friend(!!) who fixed it for us thank god as noone in the small village spoke any english so that would have been tough and not sure if Ads had his childhood puncture repair kit on him at the time!

We then headed back and about 1km out of town(thankfully it wasn't in the middle of nowhere!) the bike swerved and yes ...
