After big breakfast we hired two bikes from the hotel. They were good quality, and we were off on our bike mission for the day. We headed to the Heineken brewery for the tour. Our maps were a bit basic and we had no firm idea we were going but that was part of the fun. We made a pretty good job of the map and made the 4km trip without to many wrong turns. ... and got roped into a Mexican/Argentinian grill place. I got a bean enchilada which was delicious, Nim got a chicken burrito and Lia got the spare ribs, which looked way too big for her but she dutifully wolfed down. After dinner we got a tram up to near the station and wandered into the red light district. It was a huge mass of weed smoke clouds, sex toy shops, live show places and dozens of women in little booths ...

So we got here yesterday! Midday, so we got some food and went and met up with Iara and Matt, they worked at the first hostel we stayed at in Lisbon, Iara is a Canadian version of me but even crazier! Love the girl!! First stop! Red light district!... I have to say I wasn't keen to go but they said its something everyone has to see once! So we went along, it was unbelievable! ... at the flea market and 'negen straatjes' (nine streets) ...wishing we had more money and room in our bags! A few chilly morning walks in the busy park, 'Vondelpark' helped work off the 'poffertjes' (small dutch pancakes) we ate for lunch.
