... From there we watched the second races of the GP2 and GP3 series, then the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The afternoon brought the preparation of the F1 race which consisted of the current drivers parading the circuit in a traditional Austrian wagon, followed by past drivers such as Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet racing in their original cars, and finally an air display by the Flying Bulls. It was then race time! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the race ...

... I am in love! 72 restaurants deliver JUST TO THIS NEIGHBORHOOD! I had fun figuring out what pizza to order using my German to English translator...avoided artichokes and pineapple pizza!! The food came promptly and was delicious. We ate pizza and watched the race, getting the English commentary on my iPad. I read a novel and at 7pm, we ordered takeout again! This time pasta and salads and desserts. Hopefully this respite will help Jerry's leg for rest of trip!! Note: got laundry done ...

Gradually more and more drivers came flooding in and all I could do was stand there with the biggest grin on my face, I just turned into such a fan girl! But I cannot explain how much this meant to me, I have been watching F1 for as long as I can remember so to be stood only a matter of metres away from my heroes was ...

An early start! Up at 5:30 ( I didn't shower), packed for the day and down for breakfast by 6:30am. We met Paul the guide and walked several blocks to the bus ( it can't come into Old Town). It was a crisp, chilly morning with a hint of sun. Grand Prix Tours doesn't seem quite as upscale (?) as when we went to Belgium 3 years ago. We stopped at two other hotels before leaving Graz to pick up people from Grandstand Tours. Not sure if both companies have ...

... there and it was really nice to eat our pack up whilst looking down over the city. We sat in a lovely, lush green area for a while before we decided to go for a walk around, during which we came across several clock towers and an old artillery store. Later in the day we took the long walk back down to the town where we found a massive Formula 1 stand in which they had cars on display and big screens to show the race over the weekend. Of course ...
