But the people I met really made ...

... br> We had not pre-booked a ferry, so that evening we went online and found suitable crossing from Calais to Dover, sailing at 12.30 pm. We allowed 90 mins to get to the Port and an hour to check in before sailing time. Anyway we were packed and ready to leave by 9am as usual. We arrived at the port a little earlier than expected and as only 30mins was required for check in we managed to get on an earlier sailing and were back in the UK by 12pm local time.
