... ok - but we were told on the bus that the drivers take speed before driving a long journey to keep them awake and when we stopped we saw he was drinking beer also (it's legal to drink and drive here!!) anyway, the bus got pulled over and police came on to check for immigrants and so we told him we were really scared etc and he had a word with the driver who then thought it would be funny to drive about 10mph to annoy the passengers!! But finally ...

... What really blew us away, however, were the non-human performers. These included a troupe of 20 elephants, as well as oxen, goats, chickens (trained chickens, no less!) , and a flock of doves. Truly awesome!

So, the bottom line is that we're happy, healthy, and having a wonderful time here. But, now we are looking at our next destination, Singapore. We've just booked our flight, and now are trolling the hotel sites, looking for something in our budget range. ...

... imagine we purchased a few packets, along with some interesting sweets - mango and coconut flavours ( not sure if they will all make it home).

Steep drive up a mountain to see the relatively new construction ( not completed yet) of the "big Buddha " massive construction and can be see from ,out to sea and all around Phuket. The Thai people definitely know how to build beautiful temples.

... lads and ladies were out looking for a good time. We wanted to go and see a Muay Thai show, which were advertised everywhere, but unfortunately the tickets were a little out of our price range.

It was our last couple of days with Sarah and Graeme, who were moving on to India in a few days while our next destination was Laos. It had good fun travelling with them and Patong was a fun ending to our trip.
