... a garden where a man in a very colourful costume and big hat did a dance to the beating of drums. Monk dancing requires a lot of jumping around on one leg while the other is bent in front of you, it is repetitive but also quite beautiful. Once the monk had danced for about 20 minutes he and some of the other monks buried something in the ground and then stood around it chanting. Mum’s friend Steve explained to me that the ...

A disease that is turning my hair grey!

... way out to the road where our driver, Sunji, was taking a nap in his taxi. We woke him up and drove to the main market street in Palampur.

Shopping in India is exhausting, the masses of people, the noise, the traffic… by the time we were finished at around 5:30pm mum and I both had headaches and were ready for bed. We paid our taxi driver (approximately $15 for the day), and took our heaters and other products home with us. A strange but successful day in Palampur.

... fricchettone, pantaloni fricchettoni, cappelli fricchettoni e via discorrendo.
A presto.

Keylong – Kulu (160 km)

... conditions the ride was magic as we were ascending into the clouds that were sweeping across the top of the mountains. With big eagles soaring above and below, and the snow covered mountain tops peeking out above the clouds.

The rest of the downward journey once we got below the clouds was in a light drizzle, it dried almost a quick as it wet you. This continued until we go to Manali, when the rain started in earnest and the last 40 km to Kulu was completed in the rain

... and listened to monks chanting and playing music for about half an hour.
That night we had to put a bunch of pictures from our digital camera onto CD's because we are running out of space on the memory card. It's crazy, we have taken over 1000 pictures in the short amount of time that we have been here! The whole process took about 3 hours (mostly because the computer was painfully slow) but in the process Matt kicked the owner's butt in a game of ...

The Power of Christ Compells You

... before moving on swifty to Mcleod Ganj - And almost certainly a private meeting with the Dali Larma to discuss what might come up in the new season of 'Lost' or how he feels about the lower 15% VAT rate, or maybe ill just slap him in the face, see how he deals with that. Mcleod Ganj and my following destination of Manali are big fav's with the backpackers, so I'm hoping to meet up with some other aliens such as myself that I can hang out with. I've gone on a bit - but ...

Hot Springs

... here was that the water that fills the hole is HOT! I mean so hot that I had to mix in the river water before I could touch it. It was a fun little game of making pools and getting everything just right......before they colapse inward and everything I worked so hard for vanished in an instant.

Amritsar and getting ready to leave

... find a box (harder than it sounds) then pack it making a contents list. Then cover it all in parcel tape to make it waterproof. Then you have to take it to the tailors and get it sewn up. This takes an hour after which you collect it. Then you have to get sealing wax and melt it with a candle and wax all the seams. Then you write on the address and cover it in tape to stop it from running once it reaches the English rain. Finally (sigh you take it to the post ...

Shimla

... walk through town by one seemingly very nice, helpful tout - hey, he's gotta make a living somehow. Arrived at the funniest old seventies "honeymoon" hotel: Hotel Mahmen. Our room is complete with mirrored ceiling - so hot haha. Looks like it would have been a top joint 10 yrs ago but very old and damp now. Shimla's a nice place. Was the British holiday resort in the summer months and has old European style buildings. Main ...

... interesting travellers, wild marihujana plants growing everywhere, volcanic hot springs and waterfalls. After escaping overcrowded, messy delhi it feels like heaven on earth. We met two amaricans during dinner who do fire shows in the nearby tourist village manaly becouse they're broke. We joined them in the evening and it was absolutly amazing. We had an massive audiance and earned around 1000 rupees in an hour, around 20 euros which is hell of a lot money for india as ...
