The best part of the day for me though, was shopping at Carlsbad Premium Outlets in the afternoon! It is definitely something we will go back to before we leave San Diego, as it is so vast a whole day there wouldn't even touch the sides!

Dinner on New Year's Eve in Little Italy last night was great, so authentic and very festive. Dessert was amazing, and as always ...

Or so Ron Burgundy would have us believe. We only had a couple of nights here before our flight to Hawaii, The first night we went to little Italy for dinner and had some great authentic pasta with mexican server. :) The next day Lucie relaxed by the pool, and I headed off to the famous State Zoo, where I saw pretty much every animal you can imagine, including the rare giant panda, playful polar bears, lazy lions, hungry hippos ...

... it's like this but the exhibit is not as good as others we have seen elsewhere.

Rich heads off to one of the shows - Pets Rule. It includes dog agility, cat agility, with a few pigs getting involved. It was a show based on what animals like and then a few odd additions to keep us entertained. A few displays and a bounce in part by a kangaroo and a couple of emus stole the show. Lots of fun.

... was quite a bit of barking going around and if you went down on the beach it was quite stinky.

Next it was breakfast time. We drove around for a bit and found Harry's Coffee Shop. It was established in 1960. The food was great. Dad had the Superior breakfast of 3 large pancakes, 2 fried eggs, bacon, hash browns and coffee. Mom and I shared a Superior breakfast of 4 pieces ...
