On Sunday evening I arrived to Koh Samui, checked into my guesthouse, showered and set off explore the island and to find some good food. The paths awash with street vendors, heavy music and sunburnt bodies looking for the nearest bargain Samui certainly is purpose built for tourists. I noticed that costs have increased in all parts of Thailand particularly in Koh Samui. While Thailand was once considered a 'cheap' holiday and attracted backpackers ...

Andy goes by jitney to visit the floating fish village -- generations of Vietnamese literally living on the water. Three problems with living like this - schooling (most kids are home schooled so they can work the water); fresh water (they capture what they can in large drums during ...

Castaways

A travel blog entry by mike.kenney on Apr 04, 2015

... the party begins. The first night was a hell of fun. Groups leave everyday for castaways so there is always a cross over of people each day. So the guys who did the Halong Bay 'booze' cruise the day we arrived would dock in later to all of them at the stern of the boat signing Wonderwall. Now with 95 people on the island the party was in full swing. There were definitely some characters there including a group of ...
