      11/11 Corfu

We left the ship late and spent some time using the Port's free wifi. We were heading to the bus stop to take a bus into town when we ran into an enterprising taxi driver. He was waiting at the bus stop instead of in the line of taxis looking for €100 fares to tour the island. He offered us a €10 trip to the historic district and the same back. We found ...

Because of our late take off, it is dusk in Murano and a couple of glass stores are open, a high-end one and a medium one. Also, a bar with a toilet. We chose the Faro Vaporetto stop because it connects to the 12 line for Burano (I have a vaporetto map on my ...

We have the opportunity on this cruise to spend one more day in Greece. This time it is the island of Corfu. Anyone who has driven or walked in Greece knows that this decision was not taken lightly as the drivers are a bit crazy. However, it was Sunday and we have found that wherever we have been in Europe the traffic has been very light ...

... we vouched for camp grounds the entire time there, the best camp grounds we had come across the entire trip too which was an extra bonus.

We celebrated 20,000km on the road whilst in Montenegro, however we think Van-essa also knew, as we had to make two stops for servicing. One for the drive belt on the engine and another time for the headlights (unlit tunnels aren’t so fun without lights!). ...

      Trip 2014 31st July – 20th September

Part the first - to 17th August

We arrived in Corfu Saturday and moved on board Lazy Pelican at Gouvia Marina 5 miles up the coast on Monday. For two nights we had enjoyed the somewhat Faulty Towers style "Cavelieri Hotel" in central Corfu – amazing views over the old town and coast including Sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's $500million motor yacht “Topaz”. As ...
