Golden stretches of beach, peaceful turquoise lagoons, and 20,000 people partying by the sea. This was our vision for the Thai Islands; but first we had to get there.
We hopped on a Sleeper train in Bangkok after a frantic tuk-tuk drive to the station. We sped south throughout the night without a wink of sleep, and were greeted with a 5 hour delay at the pier. A 9 hour journey rolled into 20 hours of hanging ...
... m assuming the beach portraits! Talk about self absorbed!
We swam out over the shallow bay and it stayed shallow for 200m. Soon as it got deeper, about 4m, I spotted a black tip reef SHARK about 10 metres about on the bottom, swimming out. Immediately gave the shark signal (hand on top of head like a fin) and started sprinting after it to see it properly! There is a wide variety of fish in this part of the world, so many beautiful colours as well as clams, sea cucumbers, clown fish, and sharks! We spotted several, it gives goose bumps ...

When we returned the bikes, I asked the Irish owner that we tried to make it to Mango Bay. He laughed, snorted and told us that we would have to be rescued from the beach. So now we know why the Rescue Point guy told us it would be ok!! Money, money, money…
Just after we left the scooter pick-up point, Łukasz and Malgosia got ...
