    ... was glorious. No crowds to get in the way. We made it to the Palace Of The Grand Masters almost as soon as the doors opened. It is a huge fortress, and palace taking up a good chunk of Old Town, and overlooking the harbor. Very cool place. As we were leaving the tour groups were just starting to arrive.     We then headed off past the Acropolis. of Lindos to the Palace of the Grand Masters which was built in the 14th Century by the Knights of St John as a fortress to defend the town. It was certainly a fortress complete with moats and a series of battlements with cannons still visible in the ramparts.
