Not much to say today - we drove for about 5 hours to Coimbatore. Big city, busy roads, noise, fumes and dust. This isn't really a destination for it's own sake, but is the base camp for the morning train to Ooty. We leave at 5am tomorrow morning to catch the train -I'm expecting about a five hour train ...

... To tell you the truth, this place had lost a bit of its charm after it shut down and reopened sometime in between, but it's worth a visit, nevertheless.
If you're a fan of authentic food, I would recommend the dosas at "Salem hotel" in RS Puram. You will find one of the best South Indian food in Tamil Nadu at this tiny hotel (which I was initially hesitant to enter) and it is surprisingly very clean too!
