... picked up, and continued our bumping over the sand. A real road suddenly appeared and we started going at a normal spend. We were riding back north, on our way to reunite with our luggage and bus. Then we arrived in Erfoud. Back to civilization, so strange after the desert! We were happy to see are wonderful bus. We began our 120 mile journey to Tinghir, an oasis town known for its artisan workshops, gold, figs and dates. ...

When we finally arrived at the hotel most of us were ready to head straight to the pool after an afternoon of no aircon on the bus! The water turned out to ...

      Day 8 tinghir

A travel blog entry by cindyaserkoff on Sep 25, 2013

We leave our Sahara camp and bus to tinghir, a modern Moroccan city. We saw the oasis surrounded by the city from the tordra gorge in the high atlas mountains. After viewing the gorge and checking into our hotel, we went to the hammam for a 'cleansing'. It was quite an experience. We are now exfoliated and very clean! Ha. Tomorrow is our day in the life of a ...

... the gravel bank on the far side of the river right by the hotel, but after a somewhat traumatic day I decided that driving into and across the river, albeit not very much more than a stream, in the dark, would be pushing my luck even further than I had already pushed it. We stopped in the wider part of the road reserved for cars and coaches visiting the gorge and the hotel, and within seconds ...
