... much vertical. There were a few 'hotel's' at the base of the mountains though with the flakey look of the rock face I am not sure how safe those places are. We arrived at Tamtattouchte around five PM. It was a small castle with very ornate Berber tiles throughout the large common area and salons on the main floor. Once again we were essentially the only ones there and there was a lack of any welcome - very odd on both fronts. The ...

... br> The next day was for those that enjoy heights, there was a guided hike through the top of the gorge or there was rock climbing on offer. I did neither so enjoyed the peace of the hotel. The others returned in the afternoon so we finished it off with some cribbage and slowly another party started. We were invited into another area by Mr Hash, the owner of the hotel. ... available. Truck kitty pays the usual camping fee and you can pay any extra to upgrade to a room. For an extra 10 Euro, there weren’t too many in the group who chose to pitch their tent. A wonderful hot shower topped off a great day exploring the local Kasbah.

The warm and fuzzy feeling lasted until Tim and I had almost completed cooking a warm, pasta salad for the group. With almost no warning at all a chilly squall blew up and made cooking damn near ...

... to tell me that I'm welcome to tip at the end. We shared a cab with 3 others and headed to the Gorge. I was crammed next to a guy named Lance from Australia...he was about 30 years my senior and he had never met another Lance before. He had lived and taught in Morocco for 20 plus years and also in New Guinea....he gave us a quick history lesson that was fascinating. He says that many of the Berber people were Jewish before Islam arriverd but that most ledt in the 50s to go ...
