The roads today were much more like what I was expecting from having been on the moto tour of the Tuscany region of Italy: narrow hairpin turns whilst climbing the hillsides leading to gradual sweepers to entertain you before the next set of hairpin turns. And why is there always a large delivery truck belching diesel fumes headed towards you on the other side ...
Tropea - back on the main land
... talking (slowly) in Italian, as they didn't speak English, but they were patient and when we got stuck they loaded up Google Translator (which by the way doesn't translate correctly). As I was in dire need, they even drove me to the hairdressers, where I got my hair cut for 25euros - bargain! I had to explain everything in Italian, it turned out ok, so I mustn't have done too badly.

Backstage Tour at Sea
... table mates. We were laughing and ordering many desserts last night, just like family. After dinner we all went out to the promenade together and watched as the cruise ship sailed between the narrow bit between Sicily and Italy. There was a sunset, lighthouse, Mt. Stromboli in the distance, and fires on the hillside. So there was lots to look at. There was also the tiniest sliver of a crescent moon. ...
The Real Italy
... Spagnoli, the Spanish Quarter, and came across a different man peddling the exact same iPad and iPhone - you can only laugh, as though it's entirely possible the men were working together, you couldn't help but wonder if the second man had jacked them from the first!
Despite being a Sunday, by late morning the pedestrian zone in the Spanish Quarter had sprung to life, with people out shopping, and the numerous cafes beginning to fill up. Not a bad place to sit ...
My Journey Home
... Every seat was full I think. It's a national holiday here so that might have something to do with it. Luckily, it's the high speed train and it only takes just over an hour to get to Rome. That was train 2. I need to catch the train to the airport which runs every hour. That was Train 3. The airport in Rome is strange for check in. I had to reference the display board to see which section I check into. It took forever to check in and get through security. ...
