... our tour guide presented us with a platter of tropical fruits, all nicely cut up. Dont be shy here, there was plenty for everyone with coconut, bananas, melons everything. The bananas are lovely, with lots of flavour.

I would say this trip is definitely worth it! A lovely place.
We were blessed with beautiful clear blue skies though. Not sure what it would be like on an overcast / rainy ...

Have to admit I wasn't looking forward to today, as it as a dirty hole of a place the last time we visited. Today I was pleasantly surprised, the taxi driver was lovely, the town was open and the markets were in, everyone very friendly. We caught a water txt back to the ship for $5. ... a second or two another tribal man joined him on the opposite side of the path. They were equipped with spears and bow and arrows. They yelled over and over as we walked down the path and ran through the trees and bushes threatening us the entire way. At times I was literally scared for my life, they were so aggressive and seemed so legitimate. At times they would thrust their weapons forward as if to release and attack you. ... haven't lived at this location since the 1940s as the Yanks thought it was a perfect place that the Japanese would invade so they build sea guns there. The footings and HD bolts are still there but the guns have been removed.
Lunch was typical local kakae - rice, meat stew with salad and fruit. No wonder the bethel family was so excited when Symone started cooking for them. I've only eaten this type of food probably once a fortnight and I'm already getting sick of the same ...
