          Niagra Falls is absolutely stunning. It was a lot quieter than I expected. On the ride over, I met a man on a bike. He rode with me on the trail and talked about the falls and the history of the Stranded Scow (sand barge), that since 1918, still sits in the rapids up above.           ... maybe he was thinking of his own boat in Gippsland, and how small the Tambo River is in comparison and King Lake although big also pales by comparison.

          As we strolled back towards the car the sounds of a merry-go-round drew us to investigate. It was in an open sided pavilion I guess you'd call it. Memories of show grounds and fairs invoked happy smiles of our long ago youth!

          ... with good company rather than a motel. Jo, his wife and adorable kid settled us in before we all went out to the local Mexican restaurant for dinner. He told us how he had set up a community of around 20 people who all live together in the same neighbourhood and share the houses. They renovate them all together and try to live a fully sustainable lifestyle. Sounded like a pretty happy lifestyle! ...
