Herbal Nest Wayanad

We left the hill station of Ooty and made our way down the mountains. On the way to our next stop, we passed through many national parks and even saw a mother and baby elephant along the side of the highway. We were going to Nagarhole National Park in Karnataka, the third and final state of the trip. People in Karnataka speak Kannada, a language different from both Tamil and Malayalam that looks a lot more loopy at the bottom. This would be the part of the trip ...

Thirunelli is in beautiful beautiful Wayanad in Kerala, India. I went there driving with my wife and my mother. The drive from Bangalore is beautiful and takes about 6-8 hours. One travels through four wildlife reserve forests on the way. If you are lucky, you can spot a wild animal. we had a miraculous near miss with a tusker. He stepped into the road a foot behind us. ... at 6AM from HSR, Sunil picked up a bus and came over to Marthahalli and Eswar on his bike picked him up. This time it was decided that we will take Manoj's Swift. We went on the NICE road from Kanakpura Road and after paying some 16 bucks to Mysore road we were on the way.

First stop Kamat for some great Idly, dosa and coffee. Then the hunt for ATM started. We thought we will fall short and instead of withdrawing at Srirangapattana or before we decided to push our luck ...

... The staff are incredibly friendly, going out of their way to be helpful. I arrived full of cold and was provided with chest rub and lots of cups of tea.

The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with attached western style bathrooms. Bucket showers but hot water. They also have Tata Sky which is great when rain means you can’t go outside.

... my bag, thank god I had something to eat with me. Nick was busy getting ready to enjoy the waterfalls. The view of falls was amazing; water was falling from the height of 100 ft to 300 ft and flowing into Chaliyar River. I had a great time relaxing in the pool of waterfalls for around two hours.
