... guys arrived and we got stuck in with the food. It was soo good! Normally Fox would not make an entry for a transit point, but exceptions must be made.

The descent into Abu Dhabi was as depressing as could be - sand, sand, and more sand. It was very early morning, but workers were already sweating on the tarmac. If ever Fox had thought it would be interesting to go to the gulf, the unending sand seen from the plane chased the thought away.

The service on Emirates was in line with its reputation: good food, pleasant flight attendants, ...

... it was much more interesting to see what was going on in the restaurant. It was the first time for both us trying Iranian. Some of the food was quite different. Then we went back to our hotel and we decided to go for a swim at the beach. That was lovely. ... the 40 Deg C mark and even higher. Very soon we can expect unto 50 degrees. It is too hot now o do any work outside therefore all constructions must be done in the early morning, late afternoon and in the night. During the day all those work has to stop and that for a good reason . In the past two many workers were exhausted in the heat and fell down from the houses and too many people had to die.

Wow, what a day!! We drove into Dubai (hired a driver) and wow! What a place. Very busy, the middle east's Las Vegas! Glad we are staying in Abu Dahbi. We went to the world's tallest building and the world's biggest mall! The building had residential, office and a hotel. Unfortunately my ipod ran out of power so just a few pics. Dave has more.
