David had 4 other athletes in his division and received a favorable draw, in that he only needed one win to move on to the finals and two wins to be World Champion. Looking at the brackets I noticed that there may have been some gamesmanship occurring as two boys from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) National team were seeded so they could meet each other in the finals if everything worked out.

Heads full of history we hit the road and made for the Bab Al Sham Resort for sundowners in the desert ..........a modest little pad close to one of Sheik Al Maktours little weekend residences. The TNT could hardly wait to splash into action at the Yas Water Park! Diana and the TNT passed the height requirements to be admitted to all rides. Sadly Nobless did not and had to wait in the car. ... they were here, and our apartment had put on lots of traditional things to see down by the entrance to our apartment building. Dad even held a falcon and stood next to a camel! There was also a bit of rain when they were here (!) which was very unusual!!

We had such a good time! Hopefully they will be back soon!! xx
