A lady who looked very familiar came in and sat beside me. I thought it would be too much of a coincidence, but when she opened her laptop and started editing a book on Shostakovich .... I was sure! I also have use of a shower head which comes out of a sink. Oh the luxury. Uniformed Chinese carriage attendants wait outside each train and check the tickets before allowing people on board. They look very serious and I don't think I'll be sharing too many tales of the orient over ...
