... one of many that line the coast of Croatia and probably a little like Batemans Bay, expands to capacity during summer. It is very pretty and the perfect place to while away a couple of days before heading south towards Dubrovnik. We lose Jabba here as he is heading home on possibly the longest return journey to Australia ever (but cheap, which is all he really cares about), so it will be back to just Ken and I for the rest of the ...

... Emma took us round the buildings highlighted on the map. We were underwhelmed- I presume she took us to the right places. So far Zagreb has been a bit disappointing, maybe because we've just been in 3 cities which have been amazing or perhaps because it's a Sunday and not much is going on/open. We walked back to the the hostel and so far the sky has been zagreb's prettiest feature. Tomorrow we will visit Lake jarun and maybe the museum of optical ...

... hot night with not a lot of sleep due to that (I think some people received messages from me at random times) I woke up to two things I had not had during this trip: 1. Rain that lasted for about 1 hour and made me contemplate taking my jacket. I am glad I didn't as it was already 21*C at 8am. 2. Breakfast prepared by my host's father. It consisted of strong coffee that is slightly sweet, a roll, an egg and some fruit. People who know me know I don't do breakfast and as if they ...

... in the center of all the streets and is closed - well have a picture that I found it as it was a bit of a scavenger hunt. Then continued to follow the map walking tour and was glad I did. I came up to an archway that did not look like much but had a wonderful Virgin Mary display that so many were praying for intercessions. Then, I walked up on an empty square and saw a beautiful roof church - St Marks. There was a camera crew so I didn't pass through to ...

... Fijaker for a traditional Croatian meal- go here!! The food was delicious and the service was perfect; helpful and attentive but not overbearing. Ivana helped us to select a few items from the menu to share and sample some typical foods; soup with beans and cabbage, strudel type thing with yoghurt and polenta baked with onion and bacon.. Of course, we finished it off with the 'best Gelato in Zagreb' whilst making plans for future travel in December!
