... we picked up the car... It's a brand new Renault with maybe 100 miles on the odometer ..great.. Better not make a mistake. In true white knuckle style we hit the road. Using Kim's iPhone for navigation we made it too the freeway. All the main highways are tolled and kinda pricy, but they are amazing. Smooth, well marked well lit but stay out of the left lane!!... ... cheap for the five months. All the cars here are stick shifts so we are trying but I haven’t driven a manual transmission since high school! Between the car, buses, and trams, we’ll get the hang of getting across town. The permanent apartment has 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a garage, and gorgeous views of the city and a medieval castle from its wraparound terraces. It came fully furnished with all utilities and a housekeeper included for about $1330 ...

Slovenia....What a delightful country... picturesque valleys with Austrian styled brightly painted homes nestled into the lush green patchwork farms. We love Slovenia.

We are just north of Zagreb... it is the capital of Croatia and not a place I would commit anytime to again... it gave us the horrible impression of what dark communistic rule might have looked like ...
