... and stopped in West Virginia. I must confess that I LOVE New York. There is something about that state that fills me with joy everytime I visit no matter where I seem to go. Perhaps it is the rolling hills, the rocky cliffs, or the huge I (heart) NY signs but I always find myself smiling as I visit or pass through.

... darn delicious. We finished the meal by splitting fried cheesecake bites that we dipped in chocolate sauce. Okay so we ate like pigs but we split everything so at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been and we got in that great workout. Justified pigging out! Today was our last day in Washington, before getting the Amtrak to Chicago in the afternoon. First of all just to say that our place to stay with airbnb was really good! We stayed near H Street, and we went to &Pizza and had possibly the most garlicky pizza of my life. Also managed to track down a good bottle of wine, and chilled out for the night watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix. A much needed rest! Back to today. We went to the Smithsonian Air and ...

DC was a perfect convergence. Realized on our way in that our dear friend Heaven Edwards, who had taken the train from SF to New York for the peoples climate march, was already couch surfing in the DC area, so she joined us for our DC explorations, or rather our stroll down memory lane. Met up with old friends from the fund at a mainstay of the DC canvass office, la plaza, for fajitas y margaritas, ...

... me most of the day. I was travelling SE and got ahead of it a few times but then I’d stop for something and it would catch up with me. I was on Hwy 36 most of the way, which is narrow with very little shoulder, winding up and down and around hills, hummocks, dips and hollows, with long stretches of leafy tunnels of branches from the tall hardwood trees and little towns where the houses are set back maybe 10 feet from the road. It was all starting to look the ...
