From Bangkok I took a (very) small plane to the island of Ko Samui. Met a British girl, Kate, on the plane that was also part of the retreat. We made our way to Absolute Sanctuary to begin our 10 days of yoga and meditation with Sarah and Ty Powers. Ko Samui is dry lush and tropical. Seems to be mostly big resorts. The hotel is very beautiful, big …

Puppy parents

... stressed, and worried for them as I felt responsible for them. We followed the boy to see where he was going to take the puppy. He took it down to the river and he and his friend started to play with it and stroke it, so we figured that perhaps he would give it a good home. We then went back to our hut and went for lunch. I couldn't immediately tell whether I was falling backwards or the rope was moving further away, but as the speed of my sweaty, tired frame picked up I realised it was me falling backwards. There was no panic, I don't think I could fully comprehend what was going on, looking back it was probably the adrenaline kicking in. I was expecting a long fall having seen what I had seen ...

No Cakewalk

... you can believe it. I'm sure I've lost a ton of weight with only eating 2 times a day with intense workouts. The first day off is coming up on Tuesday. We have an exam today, which is Saturday on the sun salutations A and B, and the Standing postures. Learning all the Sanskrit words it cool because the English translation doesn't sound as epic. For example, Uttanasana sounds cool, "forward fold" sounds like a light stretch. Gotta go study, wish me luck ...
