After lunch we talked to the beach and played in Lake Michigan. It was cold but refreshing on this hot day. It isn’t Texas hot but it is still hot. Kevin saw that this is the first time since 2009 that it has hit 90 degrees Fahrenheit five days in a row in the Chicago area.

Craft beer is on sale here everywhere and it is SO good, even the beers they are brewing in Illinois. I am really starting to get impressed at how much America has changed in terms of drinking ...

Chicago, IL: Day 4

... we went there. Mum and dad headed back to the hotel after lunch for a sleep, and Ryan and I wandered back slowly - 3.7 km to be exact - I heard every step of complaint from Ryan all the way. I had the second best meal I've had since being here (the first was at Tarantino's seafood restaurant in San Fran) for tea; it was simply a thick cut 'New York' steak with potatoes and broccoli. How boring! I miss steak and I miss veggies, so it was plain, simple and safe and it was ...
