... but I luckily found a black maxi that wasn't too bad. From there we ran to get our tickets and board the boat. It was pouring ran so a fog settled over the river making the view a little hard to see. Overall it was a fun experience. The food was subpar (typical for when they try to make it fancy) but Jordan ate half a salad and tried lots of vegetables which was a miracle in itself. We got done from there at 9 and then ...

... were so many of us. Mary had actually done this cross country trip with us before in 1980 so she had met some of our family but still it was so great of them to join us too. Della had not ever even met Rick and Michael. Michael had just been promoted to police chief of West Chicago so they had just been altogether for that ceremony. ... The long and short of it is the airport never once asks for my license. Only my passport. In fact, I didn't remove my license once, the whole trip.

And I had a LOT of wine.

America looks very very very perfect, planned and organized. There was blizzard when I landed in Chicago but everything looked perfect - the traffic, professionalism even the weather. Yet there was something missing. I was constantly trying to find out what it was. I spoke with my cousin. He who have been living here for past 20 years resonated the same. Set alarm for 3:30am to go to the airport. We were all feeling ****** as we hadn't had much sleep. Dropped our Hire car back at Alamo and caught the shuttle to the airport. Once we were there we checked our bags and and went into our gate and order some breakfast. Boarded the plane on time and left for Chicago around 6:15am.
