My Kiwi Adventure Part I
... was a lot of talk about bungy jumping in Queenstown and to be honest, at first I didn’t know if I wanted to do it. The more I thought about it, the more I talked myself into jumping. I have done skydiving, twice, that has been checked off the list. But bungy has always scared me. I was worried about whiplash and it just seems scary. Yes this is what talked me into signing up. ... have done a lot more than I thought!
Moving day is Sat 4th August, and that will be a huge thing to have sorted. Thanks to Mum and Dad for having us back for 3 weeks, and also for allowing us to store our gear there. We are far too cheap to pay storage costs if we don't have to and it's at such a premium in Christchurch now after the earthquakes.
The countdown continues.
Have added some photos of our lovely house, so we can look at them when we get homesick!

... kann sich gar nicht vorstellen wie das damals beim Erdbeben gewesen sein muss, die Aufbauarbeiten sind jedenfalls im Gange und den Geschäftsleuten hat man eine gute Möglichkeit gegeben ihre Läden weiter zu führen…Frachtkontainer wurden zu Verkaufsräumen umfunktioniert und ich bin überrascht wie gut diese Notlösung auch in architektonischer Hinsicht wirkt.
Im Hostel haben wir zur Abwechslung auch mal Tiroler getroffen und es war super wieder einen gscheiten Dialekt zu ...
Crumbling Christchurch
Our final stop in New Zealand after an amazing 3 weeks. North & South Islands very different - think we preferred the North, although the South is very dramatic.
We hadn't realised how much devastation there was here from last year's earthquake - still a huge area of the city closed and clear evidence of the disaster to be seen.

... with a particularly interesting person. Bloke named Guy. He was out on a Jack Kerouac style journey with nothing but a bike. Horseplay and jokes led to discussion of hobbies and tastes. Music talk is always an intimate topic of conversation. Humans keep music so close to their hearts. Memories can be tied to a song just as strong as a particular scent, arousing feelings from days long past. Its easy to smile upon old road trips when I ...
